Wen my speedo sensor died, my odometer still went up. I dunno how tho. The sensor is located near d carb i tink. Tats wat d mech told me

That's exactly what happened to me now. My speedo died but my odo is still running well. My mech said most likely the sensor spoilt and it seems that my bike is like no power whenever I push the throttle. Did you feel that too? BTW, how much does it cost to change the sensor?

Hi guys, another question is it true that if ur speedometer is dead ur odometer also no increasing? Mileage remain the same...? Anw where is the sensor located..? Wanna take a look this weekend... Thank in a million for those bros....

from what i know...the sensor for both odo and speedo is different..

odometer if im nt wrong..measures the revolution or cycle of the piston per minute..or isit the shaft..not sure..but its definitely inside the engine..

speedo is to measure the revolution of the tyre spin..but s4 the sensor is near the sprocket isit..i forgot..but i noe for smaller bike is at the front wheel..

so definitely if either one is faulty it doesnt affect the other..

Hello Guys

I took out my speedometer last week to clean the lens as it is alway fogging up when raining. But now, my bike is very weak, it does not seems to have power across a range of RPM which it use to be and i notice my Fuel consumption went up too...

I heard that there is a mirochip in the speedometer which controls the cabarators which is very important for the timing of the engine. I am now suspecting that the timing of my bike has gone hay wire which causes the lost in power and stuff.

Can anyone help me?? Does anyone knows hw much it cost to tune my cabarators? any good bike shop to intro?

Posted

i nt sure if shop gt offer jus the tuning only. frm wat i noe if want tune must go fr carburator servicing which consist of washing d carb n subsequently tuning it. average cost abt $80 fr super 4.

do note if u were to wash ur carb, they may ask u to change the floating jet pin thing. if change then prepare to pay alot more.

Hi jayz, if they asked to change the floating jet thing, is it necessary to change? if i were to change, how much will i be looking at?

well i last did mine at bikeworkz when i send my bike fr top service. but actually any shop can do tuning le.

as for floating pin.. it depends hw bad is ur pin's wear and tear. ur mechanic will advice u accordingy. floating pin function is to control d petrol flow in ur carburator. so if it has a bad wear n tear, might cause u to haf an overflow. each pin cost abt $15 - $20. and super 4 have 4 of such pins.

Yesterday, my batt died on me while stucked at Woodlands checkpoint jam... luckily I managed to jump start. Last time was when I just bought a 2nd hand Phantom and the batt also died when stucked at Tuas custom. This time, I just bought 2nd hand spec2 as well and this happened again... what a luck...gosh...

So guys, how much does it cost for a battery change for S4? Thanks in advance.

[Q] Hi all, im riding a vtec1, there is this noise at the right side of my bike. I believe that the noise come from where the clutch is. The noise is not normal cos i compared it to a friend of mine who also rides a vtec1. What can i do to minimise or would be better if it could be get rid of? Thanks.

like got stone jumping inside? quite normal even after new clutch plates installed. if engaging gear no problem or no clutch slip, then it's fine.

Yes, like stones jumping but it is louder than normal compared to my friend's vtec1. Went to a few bike shops, some say it's normal, some say it's caused by the clutch housing.

Go to the clutch section....its the clutch housing...most S4 will have the same issue...its a matter of time and when it comes...if u have cash power then go ahead and change out the clutch housing and clutch plate....gonna cost u ard $500 odd though..
