tire pressure how much is too much?

wats the tire pressure you maintain for your ride?

 

For Yamaha X1R tubeless tires should keep to what range? Thx!

You can check at your tires there is written on the wall wat pressure is recommended.

Erm is that a question or an answer???

If its a question, the answer is - No it doesnt make your bike heavier but makes your tire softer with less pressure thus more contact point and traction. But you will have less top speed. The top speed thingy is proven in Salt Lake Speed Test. Just like hard eraser and soft eraser.

Coz the other time tire (with tube) punctured, then call a bike mechanic come down change to tubeless, then he go and bong bong pump until 38psi for front, felt very weird when travelling... Now 29 psi for front and rear, so far so good.

I'l recommend change to tubeless coz the other time, I din even kenna nail, it juz punctured by itself - Too pumped + hot road + hard bump = puncture for no reason. Then all the lao jiao and my frens tell me change to tubeless.

 

Apparently tubeless even if kenna nail wun immediately lose all air, still can tahan til you go to the furthest bike shop to fix/ go home den full flat.

 

Also tubeless much harder than with tube wan. About $120 - $130 to change both rear and front ba, including workmanship.

 

And, juz need to patch the hole vs change the whole inner tubing for tire with tube.

 

Anyway, I suppose 29psi (or about 200kPa) should be ok for tire with tube for x1r.

ya don pump too much...last time i pump 33 psi recommend by honda manual for my wave...next morning punctured...

haha really ah? i remember my first year of riding i always pump 40, yes u read it correctly 40 psi. i just feel the harder the better for me. now i just pump between 33-35. dependin on mood. heh front and back tyre profile 80/80

eh, cant rmbr wats my tire brand, but abt 120 - 130 for both front and rear tubeless.

 

Change le have a piece of mind ba.

 

Oh, go for thicker tires? There are some cubs with really big fat tires.

 

Safer but I think affect fuel consumption. So try to compromise la huh?

So far i still trust bridgestone. If you really want VERY good tires go for Metzeler but very fast wear also. But its DAMN good.

i see the pump air tingy machine...i pump 220.. put again inside 195 oni.. i pump again,check again 195 oni.

rear tyre 230.. after pump check inside 205 oni..re-do again.. same

its like it minus 25psi from the wan u set.. wonder why..

anyone can explain?

Wat worm thing you talking abt? Tire repair kit izit? If thats the case you have to change tire liao. That repair kit is for you to tahan till go workshop or go home nia temporary only wont last too long.

yup, X1R, but hor, seriously quite noob with mods and stuff.

 

I bought 2nd hand from bike diam, came with sports rim.

 

So the only thing I "mod" so far is my tubeless tire, hehez. No cash lei, haben get pay.

 

Got what to recommend for X1R guys?

The tire repair kit can last quite long. Tyre punctured by nail mid Dec 08. Still running fine with the tyre repair kit.
