Hi, i just passed my license 2 days ago, i already got a bike, aprilia rs125, exactly the same model above, i was wondering, is it hard to u-turn with this bike ? for me i felt the bike is quite heavy dan others but i like it cos of it bike performance and also look pretty nice dan other bikes, im planning to spray the bike as it is a 2nd hand bike, i have no idea how much it would cost, thought of planning to do it myself but totally no clue of doing it .

I see rag , cause i order this 1 from the bike shop is only 35mm it is just too small to fit. thanks for advice.

Yoshiki - er any idea where got available stock walk and buy? cause now ah , wah i ride i feel damn **** , like very stuck stuck. I thought it was because that my carb is always dirty due to no filter and i service carb almost every month for smooth riding but now i know air filter actually increases better breathing for the bike. where can i buy main jet? what size?

bro, if the filter is 35mm and its too small, then what carb are u using?? bigger than 35mm??

Posted

no rag , that is what puzzling me , mine is a 34mm 1 and when the mech used the measurement calliper to check the circumference of the circular HOLE , it shows 64mm, then i was like wtf already. so he helped me check with his supplier max only 45mm for the circumference so i'm like wtf.

quilsilver , u shld try a young female 1 with raging hormones. wanna curse and swear already.

bro he is using the 34mm carb . . . wat he means is tat the external size of the carb's venturi is too big and since the filter's manifold's dia is only 35mm it won't be able to fit in . . .

You're better off going to Weda/FJT to purchase whatever u need in terms of sprockets and rollers. Stock sprockets cost MUCH cheaper. :)

I saw the renthal rear sprockets from the PJ, price seems fine, but I dun know about the price here. Is it cheaper here? Thanks bro for the advice.

Does your bike have coolant? Check coolant reservoir? And what exhaust u are using? Milo Kongs are 'hot'. High temperatures during normal riding. But.. should hit 90 unless u are stuck in a jam for ages.

Yep I use coolant, dun know which one though. I still use milo kongs, It is normal then rite. I thought there is something wrong with my bike. thanks.

lol lawerence , offer double sia. funny man. 25-30km wtf? mine is max only 180-200km for $22-24 worth of 98 petrol. priller , u high rpm all the way the bike not shiong ? I don't whack at all (max 5krpm change ) - unless playing with kawas.

lawrence , can i buy the twin duel foam filter and u help me install? or i install u guide me? best of luck to you as if it's successful for you , it'd be for me. ;x hahahaha

Gotta hand it to Mr Seng. I offer him more money he also won't help me jump queue. I guess that's only fair for the other bikes in line (bad for me, oh well).

What works for my bike may not work for you. Some people use Boyensen reeds no difference, but on my bike --- WOOHOOOOO!!! Even better than that VForce3 rubbish.

The TwinAir filter shld be in stock at WEDA next month. Buy the filter (WEDA), K&N filter cleaner and filter oil (Motoworld). I will show you how to cut and install the filter. (it's a little odd-shaped so need to cut with sharp scissors)

Anyway, my mixture was so lean on 148 Main just now, when my valve opened, the engine pitch changed to a scary, raspy howl. I was kinda spooked so changed back to 150 Main.

I also committed a classic mistake of changing more than one variable when tuning the carb, thereby negating all my efforts to pinpoint the fault.

I changed the 2T : Petrol ratio, changed the float height, and changed the main jet size. :sian:

Very bad mistake.

Now have to redo everything to previous setting and troubleshoot variable by variable. Some things cannot cheat/short cut. :sian:

... u may not really need to use cone filter to really solve the problem u r facing now . . . u may just need to rejet . . . if ur jetting is screwed even with cone filter won't really help also . . .

Bingo.

no need to be surprise of the mileage becos if ur bike is jet correctly tats the average mileage u will get . . .

different bike may have to jet differently depending on the bike set up and rider's riding habit . . . so lawerence jetting may not be suitable for u also . . . 1st thing 1st is to solve ur problem on the bike 1st . . .

My best tuning was 30-35km/L. Even can max our speedo meters out on the track. No seizures, no overheating problems, just valve always get stuck cos too dry.

But before you think it's easy getting that sui sui jetting, just fyi, it took me over 3 months of daily trial & error to get it. 100 DAYS - Everyday tune and test.

Flirt with her, make her think about u when you're not around, give her a good shag when she finally takes the bait, then you're in control and can have her eat out of your hand. Might help to have boyish good looks like me to expedite the process. :cheeky:

U-turn is always a challenge for beginners. Just remember to keep your revs above 4,000rpm, hold the throttle steady, half clutch while turning, and most important - KEEP IT SMOOTH. Our bikes weigh 139kg, so try not to upset the balance.

Push the bike down, keep your body upright, and stay smooth. Do not lean into the turn with your bike as this is a slow speed turn.

SubZero is right. Stock sprockets are cheaper and they last longer. My Renthal sprocket did not last more than 2 months. If you must spend, spend money on more worthwhile things, like good brake pads, good tires, etc.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Bro . . . original stock rear sprocket is not cheap . . . it cost around $120 before GST . . . but aftermarket steel sprocket (JT) is cheaper . . . can get both front and rear sprocket for around $50 lah if I can remember . . .

He is riding a 2007 model RS125. Like he stated, selling for 7K, and it's done up very nice. Search the Used Bikes/Sales thread in this forum to see his sales page. Details are there.

Check to see if there IS any coolant inside. Milo Kong also SHOULDNT be hitting 90plus unless you're stuck very long in a jam.

Eh?

Oh, my mistake then. All this time I've been using the cheap steel JT sprockets thinking they are stock ones.

JT is not bad but the stock sprockets can last forever. Remember Chris (muser)?

His stock sprockets are still on his bike more than 3 years since purchase, and they still look new! No wear marks, nothing... :?

This is despite his track days, riding to and from work, and just plain riding around (55,000km)

Strange huh?

My gf bought over the bike. Still using the same stock sprox man. hahahaha

That's why I believe that for some components, stock is still best. (airbox and filter also)

Yup.. You're right. I was refering to the JT sprockets. Longer lasting and solid. If the stock is so expensive, even Renthal is cheaper then. But best would be JT.

Renthal at Ideal is old stock, less than 60 for the rear sprocket. Mine was the new shipment that i ordered eons ago. Rear was 68plus if i'm not wrong.

Wow.. Really?? Maybe i'll give the stock sprockets a try next time. Maybe the metal as harden to a point where by it doesnt wear out anymore. Hahaha.
