Vik, it's quite alright, I took a gamble when I decided to use the old bracket from another bike.

Most Aprilia riders are first time bike owners still battling their teenage acne and can hardly afford the upkeep of the bike, let alone the replacement parts.

It's sad that most of these bikes will never live out their full potential before getting scrapped. Most parts from scrapped bikes are never in their original condition. Even bikes that are claimed to be accident-free usually have already seen their share of scrapes and spills.

I was more vexed with myself for convincing myself to think that the bracket would be any different. The next time I'm removing my bracket I'll change my meters too, cos the procedure is just too time and labour intensive... ugh

Btw, let me know if you need a new low fuel sensor. haha

What kind of sizes we talking about for the heat-shrink tubing? If for wiring, I can source it out..

Yup, for wiring. Can use for sealing sensitive connectors like the contact to our temperature sensor. And for duplicating our wiring harness :)

Hi sasha, run in according to the manual please. We dont need another 1 who's gonna tell all their friends that the RS125 is no good. Expensive repairs and stuff like that, especially when its not even well maintained. How bout coming to the DIY session this 27th and get to understand your bike better? :)

Hey, i've just gotten an rs125, still doing running in though. But somehow i can't even whack the ****ing thing and it only goes to a max of 70plus km/h. Someone gimme an answer please.

yes agreed. if you are a new rider, i suggest you to follow your manual's instruction and do running in to avoid siezure.

Sunshine Electronics @ L3, Sim Lim Tower ... Or UF Technology @ L3, Sim Lim Square

Daiso at IMM and VivoCity carry heatshrink tubing too ...

Yup, for wiring. Can use for sealing sensitive connectors like the contact to our temperature sensor. And for duplicating our wiring harness :)

The temperature sensor connector should not be heatshrinked. A heck-care mech who's pissed with something that can't be disconnected easily, will just cut the wire and patch back using black tape.

Furthermore if normal (not the glue-type) heatshrink is used - water, petrol and other gunk may get in and affect the signal ... Which means bad temperature readings

For duplicating wiring harnesses, normal black tape is a no. Especially in the engine compartment, things get too hot and the adhesive dries out. The tape unwraps and the protection is no more. Best to use amalgamating tape like this ...

What kind of sizes we talking about for the heat-shrink tubing? If for wiring, I can source it out..

Dun forget cigarette lighters to seal the heatshrink ... :giddy:

So long it has a flame and not windproof. Trust me - if u seal a long (e.g. 30 mm by 1 metre) heatshrink to bundle the main stack of wires, half a mamashop lighter can be used up.

Soldering irons and windproof lighters deform and melt/bubble, not seal the tubing. :faint:

BTW for all kinds of motorcycle electrical stuff and supplies, I order them from Eastern Beaver if I can't get it locally. The boss himself is a passionate rider. :thumb:
