Vik and I ordered our hoses last month and we have already received our hoses and clips. Will install them myself after Halloween, if I don't wake up with a hangover.

 

Will add on your order for a set of clips if someone is willing to order through me and let me install the Samco hoses for them.

 

I'm looking forward to trying my bike against the premix bikes sometime. When my grandfather bike is ready that is.

need some advice. I took the bike for a spin tonight and rev it hard. When I inspect the bike after I parked it, I found some oil spatter on the side wall of the rear tyre(both side) and undertail( on the right side only)

Could it be that my brake line leaking or just some oil from the chain.

 

Everythng the other guys mentioned is a probable cause. Could be gear oil overflow which is directed onto the chain at the front sprocket; or a wet chain lube.

 

I use Scottoiler chain oil so it splatters alot. But its a lot easier to clean off your rims than sticky chain lube. Sticky lube requires detergent or cleaning solvents to remove, but oil just needs a cloth.

 

Also, it's easier to clean the chain and re-lube it. Sticky lube attracts dirt and the grime build-up is usually impossible to remove, which means you are applying another layer of lube over old grime. This will force the grime into the links, and wear down your chain. Oil, on the other hand, is easily cleaned off with S100 (an awesome German-made alcohol-free water-based industrial grease removing solvent) and the grime just follows. You can then lube your spotless chain as if you were oiling a brand new zero mileage chain. No need to worry about existing grime grinding down on the chain links.

 

if its the cause of ur chainlube. then ur chainlube is NO GOOD! =x

chainlube is damn sticky..

 

Excessive splatter does not mean that the lube is inferior. I do not trust sticky chain lubes because they do not fully penetrate the links as well as oil.

 

I have a chain breaker so I usually check random links of my discarded chains to see how well different lubricants hold up. The sticky stuff, no matter how expensive, don't penetrate well. Someone I know uses Singer oil for his transport bike, an African Twin - the chain lasted through offroading and street riding for over 2 years with minimal wear.

 

I use Scottoiler to lube the chain. Just paddock-stand your bike after a ride, roll the rear wheel and drip over the rear cogs. Fast and fuss-free.

 

And, like I mentioned, oil splatter on the rims cleans off a lot easier than sticky splatter.

guys this is real scary. my piston seized again last night. bad situation, as its pouring cats and dogs at around 4 plus in the morning.

 

same spot as mon. CTE after the bend before amk ave 1 exit, same thing happen. bike stop wheel locked. my bike skidded for at least 10 metres because of the rain, compared to last time. my piston sezied at the same spot. my god.
