LOL....i was about to get the lorenzo 2009 model (Black one) at sepang but i missed that so became chupa chup :cheeky:

I also quite interested in X-Lite X602, beautyful paintings, similar mouth and head vent, visor and interiors as X802 and nice price according to Ah boy(300- SGD?). Wanna find a chance to give a try :)

Oh, btw the GMAX-68S. Although i came from taiwan but i really don't think this helmet is that good. They claimed X-11 level air flow then been found far from that level due to no CFD or wiind tunnel to shape up the design. Good air flow can only be found in certin angles towards the wind. Put too many holds on the shell for the vent system make the helmet failed to pass SNELL2005 standard but still weight more than 1500g, noise problem also been complained. Interior i am not sure but from my experience of former GMAX-48/58S, not the level you will feel from those big brands(Shape and thickness[support of head], surface feeling). However coolmax material is a plus for sure.

Personally, I will pick from ZEUS 1200A/THH TS-41/M2R GP1/M2R TA2700 in that price range instead and if can put slightly more budget then maybe OGK aero blade/SHARK S500/600 can also be considered.

my two cents,

Aww bro, come on! Let's just give it a try. I doubt you are going to put ur old Arrow back.. And you dont need that custom clutch to play.

I want to see how a Polini matches against your bike. Just a friendly try, at some secret location, at some secret time. :p

I think your bike now should be more then good enough since you said that there's just a minor flatspot?? The polini isnt that easy to tune as well. I think an even bigger flatspot.

I really need this. Then if really a rotax 122 can beat a Polini 154, I dont have to waste the money to get it! :)

I'm giving myself 6 months to tune up this bike to the exhaust. After that, if all else fails, I will put my Arrow back into commission.

As for the custom clutch, it's not for me, it's for you, and anyone who wants to try my bike but does not know how to use 2 fingers to handle the clutch lever and will end up stretching my clutch cable.

No need to see. I have been there, done that. MANY TIMES. My 125cc beat that Polini 4 out of 5 times.

Currently my power disappears once my revs hit 12.5k rpm. Big dip. Flat spot is more serious than I thought, since I corrected a few problems that weren't supposed to be there (no flat spot and great power but spark plug was loose; after spark plug was tightened properly, flat spot was so major bike can die while accelerating. Also, a misalignment in the intake manifold meant more air leaking into the carb, once that was corrected, flat spot got worse. Leaning out mixture does not help)

I'm inclined to think ignition timing is a bit off due to the pipe altering the resonance timing. Will buy a few woodruff keys and shave them down to different thickness to try different advancement.

Haven't you wondered why I decided to stick to stock and not go the Polini way?

I'll say it again- I've beaten the 154cc with my 125cc enough to know what's best for me.

I don't mean to flog the dead horse, but like we all agree - ONLY LAP TIMES COUNT. Everything else is just hot air.

BTW, are you meeting us today? We need to discuss some issues over breakfast or lunch.

Hi Shinya, as always, your 2 cents is always worth a lot more than that, and is greatly valued opinion.

I've read many negative reviews on the GMAX 68S. But I also believe that SNELL is a complete scam. The stiffness that SNELL requires helmet material to be will produce a helmet too hard to gently slow your head down on impact. Most SNELL helmets transfer 250-300Gs to the head, which is proven to be fatal by science. DOT and the ECE european standard focus more on lowering the G forces transmitted to the head in the event the helmet is required to slow the head from inertial velocity to zero, resulting in softer helmets that transmit 100-150Gs of force to your head, which means higher likelihood of survival.

I personally insist all my full-face helmets are only DOT or ECE approved. NEVER SNELL. SNELL KILLS.

And that's my 2 cents, but not carrying as much weight as this genuine article http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/motorcycle_helmet_review/index.html

As for the GMAX 68S, it's such a low-budget and cheap helmet, I just wanna buy to display or use as a paper weight. To be frakking honest, hell, I just want it for the LED lights in the back of the helmet ...

Well, I more believe in SNELL/ECE/JIS any of them more than DOT only. Because DOT is a self regulation, those helmet can be tested and annouced DOT approval inside the factory itself but not like SNELL/ECE/JIS or even SHARP that been proceed by 3rd party labs. For 68S, not because they don't want to make it SNELL approval (they can, refer to 58S). It just too heavy if they want make it to - the cost of too much holes on the shell (And it's not consider a light weight helmet to me now even just with DOT approval). I personally not much like this design logic, no room for further improvement (even more holes?) and not going through any scientific way the test the design and they claim X-11 level air flow in the early stage of development which means CHEAT to me. My attitute of against 68S is half about the product and half about the company of they way of doing business. I heard they are going to the 78S design but two years after 68S hit the market, they still just play the change painting trick. I've indirectly talked to their vise-GM about they should spend some money at least on CFD simulation to improve the helmet but i dun know if they take it or not...sigh.

However yes the LED is a lovely feature and they even have a brake light sensor that you can put to your tail light and when you brake that will activate the LED on the helmet work as an extra braking light. It is just you willing to take extra weight(LED/PCBS/batteries) on your head.

As for SNELL, i know about that article about few years ago. However, SNELL approved Arai/SHOEI never been consider as more dangerous helmet no matter on road or on track so i guess not really bothering me(BTW all my helmet not SNELL approval, Ti-Tech: ECE/X802: ECE/FF5: JIS haha!). So i actually dun have any bias to those standard(beside SHARP cos i dun like brits :p).

Slipper clutch can be DIY! Here's a dude in taiwan made a dry-clutch CB125!

That's very hardcore DIYer~:thumb:

Why recently seems not much outing or meet up been arranged? I want to know some information about RS125 rear shock SPEC for preparing my RS125 project. BTW if anyone know some ppl have cheap Y2K RS125 to let go(better piston jam, suspension worm out one - save purchase budget cos anyway i am going to done up these two parts) can just drop me a PM then i can get to contact them. Big thanks!

haha... The bike is for fun, not transportation?

Eh, I had the weirdest dream this morning. I dozed off at my table and dreamt that I brought u guys to Old Airport Rd hawker centre for breakfast. Then we argued over something, and when my phone kept ringing from your missed calls, it was a car alarm in my dream!

I woke up thinking we finished out meeting and maybe I forgot how I got home, until I saw the missed calls and smses.... I was so confused because I wondered why you and Vik were calling me when we just finished out meet up.

I think I've been stretching myself a little thin... Need more sleep lately. Getting old lah.

When gf gets back I bring u guys out for satay.

Yes, I remember about DOT being self-regulated but I'd go for ECE and JIS. I bought a Dainese helmet from Paris and it's ECE spec.

As for the 68S, I wont be wearing it but will likely do my own paintjob and showcase it. :D

I've just started researching on how to convert our clutch to dry clutch as well. There is this Sigma slipper clutch but it won't have much effect on our bikes since our bikes are so light with so little power. Dry clutch would be nice to have... Just for posing. :)

Sounds awesome.

I'd like to know the brand and model of the slipper clutch they changed to. And also is it a direct bolt on or are modifications to the barrel and shaft required?

What is the spring load rating and what kind of oil is needed for it?

Thanks!

I'll keep my fingers crossed but I'm willing to bet that those guys at HKL wont have any answers.... hahahaha

Clutch plates might even be stock...

Doesn't matter whether you got your bike last week or 10 minutes ago, it's still 2 years old.

The clutch cable is partially snapped and is frayed at the lever end.

How do you know both ends are fine? Did you physically remove the entire cable and examined them?

Buy a new clutch cable and replace immediately, before it's too late and you are stuck in 6th gear running at 110kph on the expressway and you cannot downshift.

I have spare clutch cable if you need it.

what would u guys do if you're stuck in 6th gear @ 110kmh and cant downshift? brake like crazy or juz drop gear w/o clutch?

i went to the work shop... hua chin at bukit batok... hmmm the mech changed the clutch cable.. no use... same prob... check the clutch cable it is alright... opened up the gear box.. the inside got a small plate screw in the cover the plate thread for the screw is worn out...then got a round disc with ball bearings in the centre... the ball bearing shattered... need to change 2 parts... the plate with the screw and the round disc with the ball bearings... dono the cost yet... but most likely is abt $300 +/-... sigh... so sway...

sorry i dono the name of the parts... anyone knows wad are they called from the description? how much it costs to replace them without getting chopped?
