hello, aprilian friends... my tacho meter is gone, it doesn't go up above 7K even the actual RPM increases.. PM me if anybody got a spare to sell.

One more question, I am thinking to buy a so called tank bag, the one with magnetic at four corners to stick to petrol tank, I am wondering how strong the magnetic force could be? Could the bag drop off during riding??

Our petrol tanks are made of plastic, so the magnetic tank bags will not stay on.

In my avatar, I was using an RJays tank bag, which is secured by straps to the tank. The tank bag is easily removed from the base cover with velcro and 4 clips. It travelled to and from KL as fast as the bike can go, with no issues.

I also added in a set of backpack-type cushioned straps so I could carry it like a backpack for added mobility.

It has a rain cover built-in and can stow a full faced helmet and raincoat.

Bought mine from Regina's along Kelantan Lane.

Hey anyone knows where I can buy the original foot pegs for our bike? Or maybe a second hand will do.

hi guys.... i m having a dilemma... i just swapped out from ori to arrow exhaust and wen i wan doing the installation.... the mechanic fitted key to the ciol to increase the firing as per his saying.....than after i had issues cranking the bike..... initially if was not cranking after a few times i had to depress the starter button... but now its totally cant crank and had to push start the bike..... any feedback to the outcome..... gonna push it to Sporting later to get it resolved.

The Woodruff key advances your ignition across the entire rev range, even during the low revs. This is very detrimental to the engine. The Woodruff key is only good for track use bikes where the rpms stay above 8,500 most of the time.

Could use some troubleshoot to my bike as well:

Inability to throw clutch, if I attempt to throw it will stall at gear one. Other gears are fine though. If I release it abit faster the bike will slow for about half a second before power kicks in again, I've been riding on gear one with my clutch at biting but that affects my pick up drastically.

Aprilia factory gearboxes are set with high gear ratios.. If you're expecting to launch the bike, do it at 7krpm and above. Never throw the clutch as it may lead to premature gearbox/transmission failure as you're suddenly inducing a load from nothing.

Even when we do a race launch, we never throw the clutch.. We actually still hold the clutch for in 1/2 clutch position before fully engaging it. However, timing may vary according to the road condition, clutch bite, and launching rev point..

Hi everyone. Got into my second accident yesterday evening. Luckily i was all geared up. So no major injuries. But ive got a hell lot of stitches to the back of my right hand. Hurts like crazy. Guess it could have been a lot worse. But its sad, cos ive got like four papers next week to sit for. Cant write for a few weeks. Peak hour traffic can be a real hard ass b#tch. And the wet roads don't help. Ride safe everyone!!!!!! :)

So sad, no choice but to sell off my bike. Given my family enough scares. Period.

Glad to know you're ohk.. Always gear up for the crash.. Not for the ride.. Might be a pain, but it has saved my skin more than once..

Hope you get well soon. Sorry to hear about the stitches and your exams. Just be thankful it's gonna leave a manly scar, not an unsexy stump.

I recently broke my leg from ramming a Mercedes in the rear on PIE. The Merc braked abruptly and my front just gave out and skidded ahead despite my most earnest protests.

Perhaps you'll get back in the saddle one day. Maybe I might still be riding this little pocket rocket.

??

So.. on MC now? Need a visit?

Been using the woodruff key for years and had no issues. According to 1 mech, it will cause the piston to explode. Go figure.

That's terrible bro. Glad to hear you're not terribly hurt. Speaking of which, how did you injure the back of your hand? You had gloves on? If so, did it have sufficient armour on the back (e.g. knuckle armour)?

Can't you keep the bike for leisure riding only? Ride only on sunny Sundays like me ;)

Hey, sorry for the lag time! Yes i was wearing a pair of gloves. Not high end or anything. Brand was CL* (Im not sure if its ok to name the brand?) Its the black ones that have the hard backing, or armour, over the fingers and knuckles. Thanks to which my left hand i unscathed! But the fabric used in the rest of the glove wasnt as tough. So the right glove gave way during the accident, exposing the back of my right hand. So yep, the gloves definitely helped! Hope its informative enough.

Lawrence, that's crazy!!! HOW did you manage a run, let alone a Silver :p

Yep, im actually very thankful (despite my incessant whining at home) It could have been much worse!

Yes, im actually dying to ride again. But ill have to put it on hold for a while! Meanwhile, ill have to satisfy my thirst with keeping up with this thread :)
