The other hitch is we have to buy bobbins to fit in the bobbin holes in our swingarms which are $25 (prob can get for less =p)

If we decide to get them welded up we will need one sample design, parts for wheels etc and then we're not so sure about the quality. The one at motoworld are adjustable and will fit a series of bikes. You can even but the addition support for bikes without bobbins.

Anyone else know of a good place to get good paddock stands cheap?[/b]

I'm comfortable paying $150 for a paddock stand, but am a little hesitant to buy from MotoWorld cuz in my experience, their prices are often on the high side. If we can get a bunch of guys to pool our bargaining power though, I say let's go for it unless someone knows of a better deal. Let's start a list:

1) muser

2) Axxis

3) Roadster (on the condition that it fits your RS250)

i got a problem.this morning when i start my bike, the headlight didn't light up...so i adjusted abit of the wiring behind...after that i notice that my LCD also didn't work liao... so i off the engine and i tried on the engine again, it cannot start.

meaning to say that when the ignition key is at on, no headlight , no LCD screen, speedometer no light... etc etc..

how sia?

the fuse is at $1 each or even cheaper if u buy at car accessory shop(there one at sembawang shoppin centre if u stay in the north ), jus take a sample cos same design but different power rating... if i am not wrong u can try swappin the 2 fuse cos i think my mech got mention before tat 1 or them is a spare, but i not very sure.. but u still can push start w/o the fuse, except tat no electric power , no light , no signal when riding ... simple problem only .....

Hi all,

Me and my friend each bought a y2k RS125 in dec last yr. We hope to meet fellow aprilia owners. Any outings coming soon?

You're most welcome to join any of our get-togethers. We've already met quite a few times since Dec, but sometimes it's informal little outings when we'll SMS each other a few hours before meeting up. Below's the Aprilia Owners' Club (AOC) member list, arranged by area (thanks to Axxis). Please add you and your friend's contact details and we'll give you guys a buzz when we're next meeting up. Don't forget to check this forum thread for announcements too.

A good morning to everyone out there,

I am a new owner of a Sept '03 RS125 with about 3,000km on the clock. Using it for daily commute to work via the CTE, I notice the bike, regardless of the gear its in, it always stutters and hesistates at about 5,000rpm. Once it crosses 6,000rpm, pick up is the way it should be till 11,000. :thumb:

Does anyone out there have a solution?

Is this a common problem or is this just related to my bike?

I used to own a twin turbo Supra and a Silvia with the same problem at higher rpms due to modifications made.

The solution was a fuel surge tank and an additional external high flow fuel pump.

Cars and bikes are very different so I dont know how relevant this is to the RS as the completely stock.

Im also very keen to meet up with the other Aprilia owners to learn more hands on stuff. Definitely easier than going thru the past 188 pages!

:giddy: 46 pages took me a couple of nights already..........

Anyways, I hope to hear from everyone

Take care and try to ride below 11,000rpm

Congrats. 03bike, how much did you pay for the bike?

I have such prob as my exhaust valve has been modified to a "dead" one. (previous owner did that) Meaning, it will always be open, unlike the original one which will open up when the RPM goes up (Ah Boon told me that)

Maybe you shld bring it down to Ah boon (ideal motor) and ask him to check it out.

It could be your valve is stuck/dirty or something like you mention, the fuel/air ratio mixture is not enough at 5-6000rpm.

I used to own a twin turbo Supra and a Silvia with the same problem at higher rpms due to modifications made.

Wow...Supra...Did you own that in SG or overseas?

Cars and bikes are very different so I dont know how relevant this is to the RS as the completely stock

You sure your bike got no modifications?

Coz i didnt know that mine got a 'dead' valve till i brought it to workshop.

I am not a mechanic, I might be wrong. So, please check with others!

Hey GongGong, thanks for the reply.

I paid WAY TOO much for the bike..........lets not talk about it, heart pain :nono:

Who's Ah Boon and where is Ideal?

Is he the Aprilia guru?

I will take the bike to whoever can fix it as its extremely annoying!

The cars was owned when I was overseas for 7 years. I also had a turbo fto and spent most weekends at the race track at Eastern Creek or Wakefield raceway in Sydney, doing laps sometimes among Vipers, Diablos and Ferraris 360 and 550.

But cornering on a bike is way different compared to a car.

There is no room for error.

In a rear wheel drive car, if you over steer, just feed abit of opp. lock.

Anyway :offtopic:

On the topic of race track, there was one time I was there, I managed to see a turbo haya running 11psi of boost in action. That rocket, going down the straights almost sideways in either 3rd or 4th gear smoking the rear end all the way.........

Anyway :offtopic: again

Oh yes another thing, fuel consumption. What do most RS riders get?

I mostly fill up with 95ron and get about 250km on 11 odd litres.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Bonker> Wasn't anywhere near ECP yesterday or the day before. Picked the bike up from ideal last night and headed home to woodlands with it. With the Arrow system and the 34mm carb the bike really pulls now. Really boggy off the lights but once you get moving it's fantastic. Had the suspension reset to its original position and fixed the sloppy gear shift lever etc. The bike feels heaps better now.

:)

didn't fix the fairing but I made a makeshift repair using a bottle cap were it mounts on the LHS. After cleaning it up the bike actually looks alot better anyway and I can't be arsed to fix the paint as I'm really only going to use it for track anyway so there's a good change I'll drop it again I guess.

Muser> Any ideas where else we can get the paddock stand? anyway my suggestion is we get a list of interested buyers first and then approach a few shops and see what we can negotiate.

Others> If you're keen to meet up this Wed night maybe we can arrange something. Would love to meet more RS125 riders.

Next topic> TRACK SESSION!!! Who's keen? I think PG is unbooked the weekend after next. I'm hoping to head over for the Sat morning session to test out my RS. Would be AWESOME to have a few more RS riders there.

hey dude~ welcome to the family~

and for the stutter.. it is normal..

it's the flat spot in the CDI..

do a 'flat spot' search in the forum or the forum in http://www.apriliaforum.com...

ya'll know what's it about.. the stutters isn't so much of a problem if ya moving on

flat road.. just a little more of the throttle.. it'll be past easily... but not so if ya going up slope..

there's a so called way to remove the stutter.. 1st ya gotta remove the CDI.. on

the back of the CDI, there a slab of silicon, remove the silicon part and break the

circuit embedded in it... after which fill it back with silicon.. that's it

but so far there has been claim that this method is useless...

the other way is to change ya CDI to a racing 1... it would be best to get a

programmable CDI where ya can program different the mapping for different uses.. and this CDI will cost ya around 800$

Anyway guys....i'm up for an outing....c'mon lets get the aprilias together! :cheer:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

yes, i'm baised

okie, and mito too... hmmmm...the rest of the 2B sport bike, well, they are just road bike with fairings

aprilia and mito are nature sport bike built for tracks

in terms of handling and stability, other 2B sport bike REALLY pale in comparison...

Van Jamier : i dunno wat u are looking for... watever bike u buy, u gotta ask urself wat are ur piorities.... handling/stability or maintainence... fuel comsumption or speed/pick up...most of the time these two dun come hand in hand for most 2B sport bikes, esp 2 strokers...

if u looking for good handling and stability (at low speed), excellent fuel comsumption & pick up speed & easy maintainence, honda wave is the BEST! dun need 2T oil also... low cost & maintenance free...

Hi there,

I'd would like to find out more about Aprilia RS125

I have some concerns abt it and would like some answers before i pursue to buy the bike..

Basically,

Is it expensive to maintain RS125 ? Lets say FT plate ..

How is the fuel consumption like ?

And yea..im a new rider.. is the bike ideal for new riders?

I hope i can get some help here..

thanks alot

Cheers

Hi!

I'm a "new licenced rider" as well :) And the first bike I'm riding on the Siingapore roads after I got my licence is an RS125... I'm not sure about the maintenance, but I can assure you that -especially when you first buy the bike- you'll wanna ride it non-stop.. that's what happened to me :D

Actually, the bike is not mine, it belongs to a friend. I'm riding it until he comes back from overseas. But, now I'm considering to buy one for myself.

The only thing that I'm not happy with is the back and neck pain I get after riding the bike. Do you guys also feel it, or is it with my neck/back? :)

______

There's something I want to ask also. Today I realised that the cap of the 2T oil container under the seat was missing. (I'm still wondering what might have happened:) anyway... where should I go and get a new one? any ideas? thanks....
