Ben,

Pls change your MK3 exhaust to an Arrow soon so the next time I'm dragged and pinned under your bike it wont be so heavy... hur hur hur

I'm ok now. Still cant move my legs but i'm alive and I'll be back with a vengeance to kick everyone's asses once I can walk again!

Thanks to Filbert, who lifted the bike off my twisted back, and Galen who kept me from passing out by slapping me oh-so-many times (he's probably enjoying it), and Benjamin for calling for help.

Filbert,

My bike number (FR393A) came out in 4D, 3930... How come never buy?!?

Gale,

Dont get too used to slapping me cause that will be the last time, dammit.

Benjamin,

Get an Arrow. hahaha

Whoa... where did this happen?

Invincible> Good price for an FT plate RS125. However, the front screen looks really odd in the pics for some reason. Why is it so curved? or is it some kinda optical illusion?

hey Chris, it's ain't some optical illusion..

i'd seen the bike myself and it's that shape..

guess the previous owner of the bike had reshaped the whole header and screen

here's a short write up for those who wanna get the polini kit, on how to get the best performance out of it..

Hi,

have the time now to write the long version

i haven't done the big bore myself, but have two m8s that did

some time ago. helped them with advice and carb jetting, since we

were aware of the problems some had/have with Polini. they are

now both happy big bore (problemless) riders, one 12kkm other a

couple of kkm less.

if the rebuild is done correctly only two things can kill the kit

in a short time, oil and jetting.

first: OIL

take care to bleed the oil hoses & pump completely. make sure to

get steady oil flow from the small hose that is attached to carb.

turn the engine, initially, (with el drill or some other tool) to

check the oil flow. attach the hose to carb, open the throttle

(to get the slide out of the way) turn the engine and check that

the oil flows INTO the carb and that the return-ball-valve is OK.

add 1% oil into the tank for first 500km and 0,5% for next 500km.

check that the exhaust oil smoke is always present during run in.

second: JETTING (Dellorto 34)

it is important that you realize, that Polini big bore has to be

jetted richer than stock, and very rich during running in. here

keep in mind that adding oil in tank leans your carb mixture, and

that all run in is done with 1/4-1/3 of the throttle. so you should

concentrate on relevant carb circuits more than on the main jet.

main jet has very little influence in the most needed range for

running in.

here is how i jetted those bikes (both with Arrow and unrestricted

air boxes)

first 500km: idle jet #42, mixture 2/2,5 turns out. needle clip on 4

(needle #57), main jet 175, float level 11mm.

500-1000km: idle jet #40, mixture 2 turns, clip on 3, float level 12mm.

if possible check the jetting with a transparent spark plug (i use

ColorTune) and aim for a dark blue to red color for firsts 500km,

when the jetting is as rich as possible.

one more thing, first 3 times that you start the new engine warm it

up to 65-70 C and then let it cool down completely. for first 100km

drive it gradually with longer worm periods, and cool it down completely

in between.

wah lau...tell me about it... i also gana accident today!!!

component on the left side of the bike also very jialat liao, either spolit, crack or deep scratch... :nono:

and tell u guys something eerie... this is the fourth time i met this particular client of mine, after she had signed a contract with me (i'm in sales), and everytime i met her (to collect payment, discussion, shopping etc.), i get into a accident.

1st time was when i went shopping for acessories, my left body fell into a drainage hole,

results = bruises, scratches and arai ff gone.

Second time, hit a hump on the road, flung forward, after which bike overturn, fuel oil head first on to my back, r

esult = fractured rib cage, knee caps bruises, wrist more bruises, more scratches, and more deep scratches arai ff and bike.

3rd time, scalded my right leg on the exhaust (milo) while parking

4th time, today, hit by cisco van turning out of the small lane, flung orward, bike skidded..

result = bleeding toe, super bruise right knee cap, waist, elbow... jacket torn, bag scrapped...bike fuel tank, plus its right side componet all fell off, cracked, broke & scratches etc... helmet wearing MHR, scratcheless??? wierd...

i hope i dun see my client anymore....!!!!

wah lau, i pain like fcuk in front of the PC, u ask my client pretty bor???? not pretty lah... u wan i give u her number lor.... just promise me u wouldn't ride bike after seeing her..

think must be our eight charachter clash man!!!

dun think got traffic held up, in front of the yellow box got no car at all, or else i would have buang into other peoples' car when the van hit me...

my guess is the cars on 1st & 2nd lane didn't give way to him initially, and when he get to inch out, he just cut striaght into the 4th outer lane( count from the left), without checking his blind spot. i was travelling on the 3rd lane (from the left), just exiting the PIE (paya lebar). he hit my left side rear of bike and my butt, causing to the bike front to sway to the left, skidded landed on its right, den i gana flung forward at least 2 car length (luckily no car in front, else my insurrance premium next year, die)

wait wait.. the whole scenario is very confusing...

let's get everything one by one

1st, the road is clear, rite??

ya exit at Paya Lebar, coming Changi Aiport side?

when ya exit, the CISCO building is on ya left??

ya 1st lane is the 1st lane from the right or from the left?

our Riding Theory says 1st lane is the right most lane..

if the CISCO van is coming from the left.. how did it hit the right side of

ya bike?

tell me more about it.. just help ya to see whether can ya claim from ya insurance.

the road, in front was clear, but there are quite a number of cars behind the yellow box (infront of the SHELL station), hence maybe blocking the van blind spot...

i exit from Paya Lebar, coming from CTE

CISCO is on my rite

the 1st lane i was saying was 1st lane from the SHELL station, 4th lane was towards the railing (i got this mixed up, cos in states, its the other way, pai seh pai seh)

so my so called first lane was from the left

cisco coming from left, hit my left rear of bike, den bike fell on its right

errr....my insurrance 3rd party only lah....

only can claim from his insurrance....which he request me to settle privately

should i? or should i report him to CISCO?

When being hit by a company or Gahment vehicle, call the organization straight away. It's not being cruel to the driver or wat... but you have to cover yourself first and foremost.

If he plays punk and twists the story around, you're on the losing end immediately.

hey seriously...

i'm still confused..

i looked at the map.. and can't figure how is CISCO on ya right side..

check this map out

Map

no matter which side of PIE (coming from Changi Airport or CTE)

how did the CISCO land on ya right hand side??

unless ya on the opposite side of the road

so there's traffic behind the yellow box?? that means there are also vehicles

in front of the yellow box?? if that's the case.. settle privately.. cos ya at fault..

Hi all,

I need some technical advice.

I can't start my RS250. When i switch the key in the ignition, the LCD display is dead. The lights, horn all don't work. Tried kick starting and push starting but to no avail.

Could it be (i) the battery is dead, (ii) the ignition is dead, or (iii) both or (iv) some other cause?

I last rode it (very hard) a week ago and and gave it a good wash on Sunday.

Feel like taking the battery down to Ideal to see if the battery's flat.

Any advice?
