Minor crisis.

 

Sat idling on bike for few minutes with lights on then shut the ignition and sat there for another few minutes. Tried to start again and failed. Starter motor cranked about 2-3 times then fizzled away. Left it for a minute or two and tried again. The cranking reduced to 1 and a bit till it finally failed to turn. Tried to push-start in 2nd but no success. Can't achieve ignition. Voltage reads about 10.9V on the meter.

 

So what do I do now? Is it my battery or is my chamber flooded? How much is a batt? Read the manual about clearing a flooded chamber. Turn choke off and crank with throttle in 100% open for a few seconds. Wait for 10 secs and try again. I'll do that next time.. but need to change battery first. Do you think that'll fix it?

 

Also tried to change the spark plug but found that the old plug had lost its tip that was stuck in the HT lead. Tried to remove with needle nose but couldn't get it out. Are these leads readily available?

Your bike died coming outta T2? Wow... I supposed you had it towed back to SG?

 

 

I was not so lucky. I crashed entering T2 on my 3rd lap into the session.

 

I was pacing my friend on the Duc 998S, both of us hitting over 200 on the main straight. Coming into T2, he (later he told me) hit a false neutral going from Gear 4 to 3, and I was just 2 or 3 bike lengths behind me.

 

He jammed his brakes and I was in his slipstream. I had to go outside him to avoid smashing into his ass, and ended up lowsiding into the sand. F.U.C.K.!!!!

 

Broke off my left clip-on, my side stand bent, gear shifter bent, Fairings scratched on ALL sides from the flying gravel. I hit the gravel tyre side first at what I guess is definitely over 100. I got major abrasions on my left arm, and sprains and bruising all over my body from the washing-machine-from-hell ride that another friend behind said he saw.

 

Luckily I only have superficial injuries, and the bike's damage is mostly superficial too. Thank God for gravel traps.

 

Managed to secure my left clipon with cable ties to ride back to SG. Now the bike is awaiting the minor repairs and a respray. Downtime of perhaps a month.

take it easy.. be glad that ya got no major injuries...

and ya gonna take that corner 1 more time in no time!

CDI, magnetic coil and battery...

try getting a replacement battery 1st before changing other stuffs..

can lend u a batt charger if u need .... try charging full then see wat happen before u decide to change anything, some time its jus a simple batt drain...

Turn 2 can be a scary one when overtaking someone who slows down alot for it... luckily my speed into T2 is never that fast so I don't need to back off at all. I just keep the accelerator hammered until I'm about to enter T3.

Yeah. T2 is the fastest corner on the track.

 

This is a lesson I learnt that I would like to pass on to you guys. Don't ever travel together tailgating or slipstreaming. If the guy in front makes a mistake, or tio technical fault, you will have not much reaction time.

 

Like me, I had to swerve and end up crashing out.

 

I keep telling myself it could have been worse. It could have been me plus a Duc 998S flipping together.

 

 

Never tailgate... on the road, or on the track.

Hey rudy.....saw u coming back to the pit on ur bike.....wasn't exactly sure it was you or not but anyway i'm glad to hear that its mostly superficial Anyway the way u rode back to the pit with a broken handlebar was cool....except when the sidestand fell again

being a newbie, i always forgot tat its (can be considered a slight) turn..

i got a suggestions..

how bout we call up the "get real" programme to do a story on us..

last season one showcases cars going on the track..

its rarely bikes tat get the attention..

if i can get one session when quite a group of us going inclusive those last time.. it might be shot..

wahahahaha..

Maybe u should consider replacing it with some other brand...i heard coke bottle caps have 2-3% better performance...get the coke lights ones....its lighter

you can use it for cleaning your rim..and some non-sensitive metal parts.but try not to use it to wash your chain....thou the effect out very clean,but may be harmful to your chain life spent.just my personal opinion...

hey hanif, you can use the wd40 for cleaning your valves,oiling your cables,oil the foot pegs, clean away the dirty carbon stains wherever it is on your bike but i do not suggest cleaning your chain with it, because its a degreaser, so after you clean your chain,remember to wax it back with chain lube.(just bring along the wd40 this sunday at lacri's house)
