I have no doubt smaller bikes can eventually reach the destination; vespa also can complete Dakar rally. Just that SW tour group is a chop-chop non-smoking flight. In fact, it's the smallest bike in the tour group. Need to maintain 130km/h else paiseh if everybody is waiting or wondering where is the last sheep :) Having said that, the tour leaders and members are entertaining and experienced :thumb:

smaller bikes are always welcomed to join the short makan trips... such as those to Kulai and Pengerang, where the disparity between top-speed won't have as much impact.

generally, our "planned" SOA along NSHW is usually 130kph bearing in mind:

* safety speed on the HW (not safe to have those huge coaches coming up our ass),

* comfortable speed for the slower bikes like SW (compared to faster ones like GL, GS, VFR, S4, Tenere, Versys, etc.)

the group no longer rides in convoy like we used to in the late 2Ks, as we now have much more powerful/faster bikes in the group. the faster bikes usually ride ahead and wait for us at the next stopover... no need to mention their speeds lah :p

nevertheless, we also experienced touring with ST1100 that cruises at around 90kph and a cute Hornet 250 that chases a CBR1100 BlackBird :lol:

and one very important point, we must take best care for our bikes to minimise the probability of it breaking down while touring... not only it disrupts the tour plan, it is also very costly to have it shipped back if it can't be repaired in boleh or tongyum land :pity:

just for a laugh...

i think the men-in-blues are appealing for witnesses who could provide useful information to the shop theft cases that occurred in this neighbourhood.

guess the Singlish mata totally misrepresented the situation...

posted message seems to say that this place is known for shop theft arrests :lol:

imagine using such Singlish in police statements... it'll be quite chaotic when these statements go to courts as evidences to trials, the lawyers will have their last laughs :faint:

Had a good laugh after seeing this "funny message" while on the way to lunch... did you also spot something wrong as well?

MPs of Marine Parade should be very alarmed if security of this area is like what the English sentence exactly means ^_^

this is the http://msgboard.snopes.com/photos/signs/graphics/austria.jpg town we were talking about last night.

F*cking (German pronunciation: "fookin") is an Austrian village in the municipality of Tarsdorf, in the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria. The village is 33 km North of Salzburg, 4 kilometres East of the German border.

Despite having a population of only 104, the village has become famous for its name in the English-speaking world. Its road signs are a popular visitor attraction, and were often stolen by souvenir-hunting tourists until 2005, when they were modified to be theft-resistant. Yup, the Austrians are fed up with the regular disappearances fo their town's signage.

Google up f*cking town" and you'll see more info and pics, it's also in Google Maps too :lol:

want to find some f*cking roads? also got:

Hey, where's the GPS for the 'Beggar' chicken in Sepang?

Will plan for lunch on the way up during trip for April's Songkran.

I have also decided to extend the CNY ride earlier by 1 day, i.e. leaving on Wed, 13 Feb 13 instead. Therefore 2 nights in KL and 2 in Cameron Highlands.

Want to include afternoon and night visits to Fo Guang San Temple and i-City respectively.

i juz bought a fjs400 and e front steering seem very light? izzit normal? i also experience front light wobble around 50kmph..

Normal as the rear takes a bigger portion of the weight, esp if 2-up riding. The light wobble should only feel on deceleration with throttle closed, no brakes and lightly holding the handlebar grips. Something to do with condition of tyres and wheel balance. If it's not excessive, should be fine.

other than balancing and tyre condition, suggest check the conditions of the following:

* wheel... alignment ok? warping?

* steering cone... loose or worn?

* bearings... worn?

since you're a new SW owner, suggest you take some time to read through the SW Tech Corner...
