Dear SW9000, wanna ask,after how many kiles need to change filter for belt compartment? my milege is 27K. many thanks.

 

Wanted... but unfortunately, need to replace the filter at the belt compartment first. Picha 2x big holes.

Will know later when I go buy and DIY.

Want go Pontian... then watch Prisoner at Indah...

Just took my battery out for charging. Replace air filter to stock. Prep for penang.

consider bringing jumper cable? just in case

Not sure how long the stock filter will lasts but I assume the foam will dis-integrate at about 40k?

My change interval is around there. The foam crumpled into pieces just by touching.

 

Now now replace with a DIY K & N filter. Got it free from a friend.

Tonight will cut to fit.

 

Update: K & N type of filter too thin. Must improvise another layer of lining to hold it in place.

Guys...my 3 month old SW started to give out some noise (kind of ringing sound) everytime I throttle off from standstill. I will last for abt a sec. Sound seemed to be coming from the engine side. Went to BS but was told it was perfectly normal (mechanic say 'drum rubbing against each other' very normal for SW) . Question is why started to produce now and not when I first rode it from shop? Is this really normal for SW? Hope the experts here can enlighten me on this issues. Thnks in advance...

Yea, is some sort of clutch slipping. Is a norm for all cvt scooter, especially sw which is so much heavier than the rest of the maxi scooter. Some servicing can be done, eg lubricating the 5 clutch pad hinges and sanding both thw clutch pads and bell/drum to permit more friction when they contact. The easiest way is to throttle harder and move off. It will minimize the sound from producing due to stronger centrifugal force produce by the belt and thus resulting a faster grip of the clutch pad to the clutch drum/bell.

Yes, number 9 in the picture.

 

I remembered the stock was quite expensive for a small little piece of foam.

Had actually wanted to see got better alternatives. Now using DIY K & N.

* Experimenting because still can hear a slight spinning sound from the engine. Not sure whether it is the variator plates dirty (rubbing against the belt) or the K & N is too thin to minimise the sound, unlike the thinker stock foam?

the stock wind shield may be bought thru BS parts centre (but their prices sucks) or any honda parts sellers such as FJT, Eversuccess, etc.

not so nice condition? hmmm... engine? chassis? body plastics?

if it's only body plastics, a makeover will do the trick... change bodykit and/or respray can make it look blink blink again

but do note that some parts may require shipping time of about 3 months if the stockists here don't have them.
