Hi any of you know how to make the head light lens/cover to transparent again. I m getting a 2nd hand sw soon. But the headlight and all other lights are turning brown.

hi, you may wanna check out the Tech Corner...

Polycarbonate Motorcycle Windshields & Restoration

at bottom of post, there's an explanation why polycarbonate shields & light lens turn yellowish... primarily due to oxidation & UV.

i've tried using autoglym super resin polish to restore the head/rear lights of my previous car, it works.

you may wanna consider trying that

have fun

QUOTE=CBR_1000;8231127]Where can i view this sale? Anywhere or shops where i can see and hear the pipe sound?

That would be mine. Pipe is with my mech. for a small token you can have it installed and ride around to have a feel. Sadly i do not have a video of the exhaust sound. sms 81114867 to discuss.

hi bananaboi, welcome to the SW community

as a new owner of a pre-owned SW, there'll be lots to learn about your new "bride".

here's where you could find lots (maybe not all) of your queries answered...

[h=1] Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner[/h]

know hows on coolant are also included...

* Coolant Flush

* Changing Coolant

my first recommendation is to invest some monies on a post purchase FULL servicing... it may be costly, but nothing is too costly when it comes to safety.

check this out * Buying An Used (Aka 2nd Hand) Silver Wing?

see section at bottom of post for recommended post purchase servicing tasks

depending on when the last "changes" was done (do you trust what the seller told you? :p), it would be recommended to change the engine & final drive oil, coolant and brake fluid altogether during the post purchase servicing.

cheers

Thanks a lot. Yes I did change the engine oil and spark plug when I took out the bike. But need to do more it seems. The bike is very stiff when turning or slower rides. And the water temp lights very fast turns on and the meter always get reset after on and off engine. Time always at 1am. Seem to have some issues with the bike.

stiff when turning and slow? 1st suggestion, check your tyre pressure. pressure too low affects handling

if ok, then maybe it's time to check bearings and steering cone.

water temp... suggest you visit mech to check water pump and change coolant. hopefully pump ok, just need new coolant

battery... very likely gone case, there's a post on such symptom in tech corner. suggest change to YTZ14S (about $130+) or lithium (about $200 and more) if got spare cash to invest.

It's all about trust and friendship.

Many Silverwingers and Tmaxers visit AC because we've known him for many years and he does a good job .

You may wanna give Tai Hin a try as well. Your preference.

However, do bear in mind try not to hop around. Stick to 1 mech for consistency of service.

PROBLEM is not serious, if it can be solved with MONEY ... the PROBLEM comes when you have NO MONEY

Another thing to note is EO leakage. Park your bike on side stand, go to the right side to check the bottom to see if the engine section is "moistured" with EO around or not.

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

@banana Boi. .Anyway. Regarding the clock. I just Googled and solved. The fuse burnt. Changed the fuse. .done. .

bro, your problem is meter reset or time reset?

if only time reset, then C.S has the solution ... change the blown fuse

if meter reset, as in the bike's electronics undergo another startup check (see youtube below), then this post is relevant

Meters resets on crank start?

video shows biker crank started his SW (at 7 seconds) and meter/electronics immediately do another startup check

cheers
