yes / yes

suggest use a perm marker to make a mark at full close position for easy reference

Just now I adjusted the air screws. Tried to remove the black plastic cover to have better view of air screws but can't, is it must remove the 2 fuse boxes, how ah?

So in the end, i just access the screws thru the hole in the plastic.

There are 4 screws holding the plastic.

Dislodge the fuse boxes with a screw driver. Just push down at the clip that is holding it.

The one near the back can slide to the side of the plastic.

The one near the front can slip through the hole that it is located.

The sides of the plastic cover is held under the fairings, so must push it out from under.

I have removed the 4 screws. i dun really understand how to dislodge the fuse boxes. At their sides, they seem to be attached to the black plastic cover right? Do i have to open the covers of the boxes to slide to side of plastic (rear) and slip thru the hole (front)?

yes, the fuse boxes are hooked onto the black cover so that they could be kept in place while on the move

no, the hooks are on the side with clip holders to prevent them from slipping out. look closely and you'll find a small plastic level in the small gap. use a flat head screwdriver and depress it gently, then you can pull the fuse boxes upwards slowly. see attached pic for location of level

read the technical thread Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner (http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 2)

lots of info inside the 2008 part too

the SW is more than a transport, its an automatic-utility-touring maxi-scooter... naturally, we make best use of it :thumb:

new OTR now is about $17++k (was about $12+k in 2007/8). strongly suggest you get quotes (remember to add EVERYTHING into bill). from these shops before deciding who you wanna let earn your $$... Bike Production, Looi's Motor, Mah, ASPhoon. other shops also can, but use these 4 as basis for comparisons in case get chopped.

new bikes in sinkapor are euro models coz Boon Siew brings in only FJS400 and now the new facelifted SWT400 of aka GT (think its also Euro, Jap Yen is way too expensive liow). the JDM400 is available as used bikes, but differ little from its Euro cousin... heard that it has faster pickup (has "overdrive" switch), lower top end, and consumes slightly more, etc. body & transmission are the same (i think same parts are used for both) except key/ignition switch, handlebar control units, tacho/speedo unit.

IMHO, better to get the Euro :p

Thanks guys for the help. Managed to detach the fuse boxes and take out plastic cover. The scoobydoo's pic really help alot and sw9000's explanation now makes alot of sense to me.

Now encounter another situation, i removed the screw fastening the front fairing and when try to screw it back, somehow the screw thread looks like it's damaged altho i din use much force. Where can i get replacement, from FJT?

The screw is the one facing the handlebar, not the smaller one above the headlight.

depends on whether a standard makeover or extreme makeover :cheeky:

Paintwork

basic single colour 2K paint job costs between 350 to 550 depending on shops (some shops claim they use german 2k so charges more). 2 or more tones and complicated designs will cost more.

think i've seen riders painting also the black transmission unit cover to match the bike theme. pillion's handlebars/footrest assemblies, dashboard, handlebar covers and black body plastic covering the fuel tank also can be sprayed but not advisable unless they're already fadded or frayed, separate charges apply.

power powder coating the rims or metal parts will look very nice but separate charges apply.

airbrush jobs easily from >800 to >>1.5k depending on design. very chio, sure a head turner but my family members are very against it... not matching to my down to earth personality... whahahaha

:cheeky:

Do you know about matt paintwork on the body?

I'm considering spraying matt black, but worry that greasy finger prints and petrol marks will stain on the paint. Seems like harder to maintain than glossy 2K paint. Anyone has any experience?
