At 1st when i 1st saw the CBR'08 on pictures. I thought it didn't look as fierce as the '06 and '07, and i didn't like it at 1st sight.

But after learning more abt the bike, and when i 1st saw the bike at night, on oncoming traffic, coming towards me, i think it looks really fierce. I like the LED pole lights on the mirrors. if the highbeam is on, i think the 'eyes' looks devilish.

My best fren bought the 1st CBR HRC colour in Singapore. 2009 model.

Yea it actually looks like a bird

It looks like a colourful parrot. HaHa!

I always disturb my fren about his bike.

There was 1 time he was parking his bike at a bike shop, and there was a parrot in a cage, just after he parked near the parrot, the parrot said, "Hello, Hello" . HaHa

hmmm my fren told me CBR is a performer on street as well as track...

Is it very very expensive to own a 600/1000 super bike?

4 bots of EO, 4 spark plug, approximate 18litres of fuel (*of cos not everytime pump full tank) big tyres...

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Your servicing is the same as 2A 4-cyl bike (eg. Super 4).

4 btl EO, 4 spark plug, oil filter standard.

The only diff are:

- Road tax

- Insurance

- Fuel consumption

Hi, thanks for sharing such valuable information...

Mind ask what's the road tax for CLS2 bikes lets say 1000cc?

For a 26/27 yrs old ryder just pass CLS2 will the insurance hit 1000SGD yearly?

Road tax is pretty standard. The formula used to be such that annually, the road tax for 1000cc is $320, and 600cc goes for $200. Now with the rebates, expect abt maybe 5% to 10% off. I'm not sure. I just pay... forgot the exact figure.

The insurance... now that is tricky. Got to get quote la. Comprehensive for sportbikes, you might be looking at around 2K or thereabouts. TPFT will be half to 2/3s of that.

Insurance just went up, so all those estimations may fly out the window. Gotta check it up yourself. Go NTUC for quote, since they're abt the only ones left who're willing to insure sportbikes.

Then I gotta evaluate myself carefully if I'm buying one.

Are you riding a sports bike now?

Sorry to burst your bubble bro, but which part of the thread title did you misunderstand? The Super Dukes and the Street Triples are not 1000+cc sportbikes, unless there's something I don't know but you do.

Power delivery, mid range, handling, reliability, stability, parts and servicing, performance. Unless you need explaination, if not i think you can figure out wat are these aspects.

Hmm.....With a 2 year model revamp cycle for each manufacturer...The top super bike changes every year.....

I see no point in comparing any of the model....I believe 99% cant bring the full potential of these superbikes.....Let alone comparing them.....Boils down which bike you liked best....

Any of these have enough power to kill you if you are foolish enough...

I would just get the one that looked best at that point of time and dont look back....

.... It looks weird, like a bug-eyed alien. The previous model looks so much better. For me, I really like the Suzuki Gixxer Thou, always had a thing for twin pipes on either side of the wheel, but a lot of mags are saying it is not as good on the track as its rivals in the tests they've done so far.

Thought only MCN was downplaying the K9's performance? Are there other major bike mags dissing the K9?

You may want to know that the latest issue of Superbike is giving a thumbs up for the Gixxer K9. Believe Fast Bikes should be reviewing the K9 soon as well. Waiting patiently for their shoot out.

My vote is for the K9. But.... the new RSV4 is looking good as well!
