Is teh adjust done by using a 'Plus" screwdriver?

Search and search and cannot find a knob. HELP!

 

 

 

Easily done by your right hand coz the nob is at around 10 o'clock position.

is it brand new ? what's its pros and cons as compared to a ST11 huh ?

1. ST11 no longer in production lor, now STX13, Diversion still in production.

2. ST11 299kg dry wt, XJ900S 234kg dry wt.(+my wt 65kg still lighter than ST11 w/o rider!!!)

3. But ST11 got that nice and practical rubber winglike engine guard no other bikes has(except Deaville and STX), so drop also no scratches. But my XJ900 i fix engine guard like S4 lidat also quite nice.

4. ST11 panniers can fit full face helmet, XJ900S can onli fit 3/4 or 1/2 helmets.

5. ST11 insurance pretty expensive and rd tax above 1000cc bikes is a killer, XJ900S is cheaper and practical economically(rd tax $94, 2nd party ins $480-aft 20%NCB).

6. ST11 fairing works, Diversion's windshield "divert" wind to ur face(confirmed one for all heights of riders, tats why call Diversion ) But motorworld selling skidmarx taller windshield for $110, before bargain price quote.

7. ST11 got lots of aftermarket accessories like nice pillion backrest, which XJ900S is lacking in. But i hope more accessories for XJ900S be available soon bcos i see XJ900S gaining popularity this year onwards, just met two guys bought one each, FW plate, both also silver.

8. Major advantage XJ900S has its slim profile, becos tis bike is Seca 600 big brother, its original design is w/o box one, Yamaha given Krueger Panniers permission to drill two hole into the pillion frame to hold the box, if u wana squeeze traffic, just remove the panniers and ur bike will hav same width as S4!!!, but wheel base is slightly longer than S4. ST11 i hv not seen pple ride w/o the panniers b4.

..... other riders will hv their own opinions of pros and cons, i bother to write bcos i hv riden it for 1+ yr and still luving it, bought it with no regrets. Guess its a good replacement after I sold my rvf(which I dearly missed-its a true streetfighter bike as well as track) Receive 2 comments so far, 1 was a TP riding side by side w me and thumbs up to me saying "Hey, nice bike man!"; another was a uncle asking me"is that a Triumph?" (cos my bike is green colour, similar to Triumph Tourer.) Btw, XJ900S has many cross breed design inspiration, it also resembles a Suzuki BanditS1200 as well as a Triumph.

 

XJ900S is a decendent of the 10-20yr running production bike FJ900 also shaft driven touring bike in the mid-80s. So technically, XJ900s has a longer history than ST11.

Looks like urs is a better deal.......15.5k sounds good but when i asked 4 my insurance, NTUC replied with a $17xx for 2nd party with no previous claims history(wtf)....

 

BTW wats ur age? Which insurance is your bike under? Wat freebies did Manager Lee throw in 4 u??

thank you so much for the insights though i'd not got my class 2 yet, now starting to look around for a class 2 bike liao heehee was considering between a ST11 or Diversion. ST13 is too expensive liao, coz think nobody is selling 2nd hand yet and a new one cost 30K++ i think ? too expensive... 1 thing i realize abt diversion when i saw them on the road... they look very different in different colors and different pannies hor.. and i'd seen many types of pannies for the diversion, some small some VERY big heehee....

 

btw, diversion is shaft driven right ? btw, what is HL and where is it huh ? coz i'm riding Honda all along and had not ridden a Yamaha before yet

oic. I'm about 38.. old man, for insurance is AXA, it is all done by HL.

Talk to him alot (about 2 hours) then only one but had prom him not to spread out. He said last time because bike got more profit then can now can't.

About this Bike

Got no regerts on this bike. Looks like I've found a gem in the mountain. Use to be a Honda dead hard fan until my last PB1 keep on burning holes in my pocket.

I had gone at an speed of 140-160 km/h for 1.5 hrs at NE Highway and this baby just seem like nothing...very quite and always have the extra power to pull. for my PB1, sure virb until all my bones drop. hehehe

On 5th gear, this baby can pull from 35km/h to 120km/h without any problem. This is the first of it's kind(maybe all my Honda..s can't)

For top speed, I've try till 208km/h for a few mins then my balls feels like going to fly off so slow down. haha.

Things that I don't like

Engine very rough. Louder than S4 when park side by side.

Brake not very jia. May be I use to 100% front brake.

Rear tyre too small, raining sometime can shake a bit.

For the good side, all had meations in forum.

Haha....Talked to him jus now n mentioned "a guy who bought a Divvy from here recently n u offered him 16.5k OTR w 1st party" n he paused n replied "Ok... I can match that." Jus like that, i've saved almost $700 in additional insurance loadings...

 

Anyway with all conditions favourable, its really tempting to jus pop by n place n order 4 one now, but i'll ponder that over a few days 1st to ensure its not an emotional buy(ya like it'll really help)... prob the silver one....

 

BTW, i tot this engine is pretty smooth, u mean rough as in the vibs are intrusive??

Anyway 30% of 16.5k is almost 5k.... Quite a sum 4 a downpayment of a bike...

Gd! Yes the engine is very smooth after 3.5K rpm. But I think due to air cooling engine, the idling part is a bit nosy as compare to liquid cool engine.

 

With the COE keep going up, just hope that he can hold on this price....

Suggest you go to HL workshop(not showroom) to scot around. Sometime you can ask around for more information about is baby.

While at the HL workshop , ask for Lee Meng Kwang, he's the sales manager, the one who can quote price and look among his dealers for loan instalments for you. But the HL showroom is in Tannery lane, somewhere in Macpherson, there is where i saw my green diverted, sit on it, and try all the display bikes in the showroom, even the Tmax!!! and they directed me to the Paya Lebar workshop. End up my bike is bought via Mah Motor Agency at Jalan Besar. As it turns out, HL doesnt sell direct to customers, they only sell to dealers. So what ever price u try to bargain at HL, they still hav to check with their dealers to see which one willing to sell the bike at that price.

So I suspect YAm got the bike from their Dealer BHH.

I saw one fella riding a FW Divvy in Pasir ris, saw he replace his mirror with a Silver one. Didn't get to see it blearer what kind of mirror.

...I also staying at Pasir Ris. Hope to catch up with him again.

Yes, that's the one I will be mounting.

Just brought the mirror and will be mounting them when the metal bracket is ready. (Still in design stage)

Have to be very careful else if kenna drill wrongly will

My Divvy is blue color so it is easy to match with black.
