Hi guys....

Don't worry,I'm still wacthing the progress.Just came back fr a very long holiday in Genting,KL. Guys...I've not tried riding up to places like Genting/Cameron.I want to feel the pleasure of riding up-hill.If I'm not wrong, most of our bikes are Swiss or German spec.As for Swiss spec I think this bike will go as smooth as silk in the terrain........correct me if I'm wrong.... :thumb: Bro SG the old TP bike is FZ 750 GENESIS...won by Eddie Lawson in Laguna Seca who out-run Freddie Spencer who rode VFR 750 in 1985 in Daytona Cup.Seca was the early Diversion...

Hi Haroze,

With regards to riding up the curves of Cameron and Genting, even with 2 boxes full and pillion weighting at back, the ride both up n down was a piece of cake.

In fact the bike feels even smoother n quieter in higher n more cooling enviroments.

It would be great if one of our trips goes for a short ride up to Genting to 'make some $$'

Cheers

This sounds good a trip to genting highlands, jleo and haroze why don't we do a ride up to the genting..maybe a few months later...

Anybody wants to schedules for the whole year of "05... not neccessay it is a must go...atleast there is a schedule we can use it as a guide...all of us can input where and when the trip is...or should be!:cheeky:

What I know that- for e.g Haroze has 2 schedules inhand 1 is the FIM during oct date? the next is traveling whole outskirt of malaysia date and month is yet to fix?... ..

If this can done for the whole year!!! it will be easy for every :bounce: handsome buggers to schedule their leave before hand.

Changed engine oil at SK earlier.

They recommended a bottle of 4T addictive which costs S$35.

However, with this 4T addictive, you can reduce and downgrade the engine oil to semi-syn.

- Theorical Oil change : Every 10,000km (instead of the usual 5,000km)

- Semi-Syn engine oil which cost S$7 per bottle is enuff.

(as compared to the usual S$18 per bottle for fully-syn)

- Engine quieter, smoother, cooler, less vibrations and pinging sounds.

- Protects and prolonges engine life up to 3 times.

Total I spent was only S$56 (w/o oil filter)

Breakdown : 3 bottles of Semi-Syn (S$21)

4T Addictive (S$35)

That's all. Personally I find that its good, more savings with cheaper engine oil and longer change duration. Try it!

Mine lasted 24000miles... Value for money IMHO despite the opinions of what i read/heard in many places. Wanted to get an exact pair but couldnt find it.

B4 i changed( few mths back), a pair of Dunlop Arrowmax was $270 inc balancing at Motoworld. U can go there try.

Now I'm on a pair of Bridgestone BT020. Makes conerings so much sweeter. :thumb:

Wa say, rumours spread real fast. Actually its not drop but skid. Long story dont wish to elobrate, jus some minor damage to bikeb but he was injured in the process

Panniers will be patched up n repaired to the best it can, lock dropped off, Fairing chipped, signal light broke. Fork slightly misaligned n handlebar worse off, lt can be satisfactorily repaired but never 100%.

Things happen already so dont wish to pursue any furthur.

While i put it in shop, i also ask him to do a valve clearance check + carb tuning. Been a week w/o bike but its not tt bad. If nay go pass shop(Stanford Motors) help me see how its progressing. Hope to collect it b4 the new yr n go 4 ride.

Looking forward to the trip up Genting/Cameron.. Hope more of u guys can make it.

Day trip 2 Genting would be a nice n short trip, make a killing(or be killed) there n then ride off wif 2 panniers of cash(or empty). Hahaha

Up/down Cameron via Simpang Pulai/Tampah is more than 1k km. I can recommand u the route which i did awhile ago. Very scenic n relaxing. Up via NSH, down via trunk rds, otherwise boring if NSH all the way. A very do-able day ride albeit more tiring.

Also can i suggest that we leave in the cool weather of the wee hours of sat??

Anyway no need to reece la, simple n straightfoward. I can help with the directions or choice of routes. :cheeky: :cheeky:

Hi casper,

Bro- Adding additive to engine oil is not a very good idea, additive may interfear with the engine oil compound- manufacturer always say that not to mix/add any additive to their oil..!

Quantity of engine oil for :- XJ9

With oil filter cartridge replacement-3.4 litre.

You top only 3 litre in total of engine oil -how many mililitre (quantity) is the engine additive holds(contains).???

Theorically- oil change can prolong up to 10,000km not forgetting oil filter change at 5000km- is for fully synthectic Engine oil only- Yes this calculation is for European/western climate use.

Fully synthectic for our climates max prolong is 8,000 Km and sometimes lesser and it depends on how long you stuck in the jam too!!!

Semi-synthectic will be lesser then fully synthectic, it can prolong around 5,000km +/-to 6000km is the max usage... (after engine becomes rough and gear not easy to engage)

normal engine oil will be 3000+ somewhere near 3,800/900km workshops round up to 4000 for easier calculation (after engine becomes rough and gear not easy to engage)

If you prolong using the engine oil beyond it's actual use- what happens:confused: oil losses it's- viscoscity- oil becomes thin, synthetic additives which protects- breaks down and unable to carry/transfer heat away...so overheating and wear & tear..

Don't save few dollars today , you might fork out more for tomorrow!

You now using the additive added semi-synthectic oil -try it and see how good and how long the engine oil can be use...! :thumb:

Then give us the feedback!!

So far to my knowledge; No Additive Company have claimed that their additive was use in the FIM bikes!!! or tested!! yet!

The fuel addictive is 8oz or 236ml. Thus it's just nice w/o oil filter change.

No worries bro, I'll give my feedback once I've used it for longer periods of time.

From what I know, another divvy also added the fuel addictive b4 me and the response was good. Less vibrations, smoother engine and about 25% more gasoline-mileage on a full tank.

I changed my tyres at Mah Motor Agencies These are my third set of tyres.

1st - Stock tyres lasted 27,332 miles, Cost unknown

2nd - Dunlop ArrowMax 21,128 miles, $217

3rd - Dunlop ArrowMax unknown, $225

No complaint on d tyres except d $8.00 difference. Have no problem with negiotiating bends ( often do 110km/hr along d tunnel form SLE to TPE ), on wet surface ( the groves look effective on d tyres ) or high speed riding ( anyway is "H" rated ).

Had also renewed my insurance, AIG comprehensive with second rider added cost $781.00

Its not too short, but it would be more tiring as u'd be awake for long hours. Actually would much prefer to stay over 4 a nite so trip will be more relaxing n fun.

Bro Casper if like that u ON bo? How abt the rest, split in 2 groups? Day trippers n Stayovers.

Can stay in Genting, rates from $RM140/room for 1st world.. However if stay on weekdays only RM36 for same room... :giddy: :giddy:

Anyway i'm open 2 suggestions.
