Hi All,

Little advise or thoughts.

Currently have VFR800, Reg Feb 02 (pre-VTEC), only has 25k on the clock, very papmered and just as clean an polished as the day it left the factory.

Looking at getting a new VFR, either the 08 model or the last of 06 models that are left in SG.

Qn, what as a very rough guess is an 02 VFR worth? had a silly figure of 3-4K offered in part-ex, if this is all It's worth then i can't think of letting it go because of the 100% condition and the fact there really is nothing wrong with it. (just fancy a change, itchy bum :p )

I come from the Uk, seems the local market is very diff. Over there you can have a 5 year old bike in the 100% condition worth more than a 2yr old with high miles -- and high miles is anything with more than 10k on the clock

thanks for any advise

scott

Try Ong & Son at Defu Lane. I had used their services for many years.

You got to strip the fairing and send there yourself though.

Send to Ong & Son at Defu Lane by Factor Motor charged for $100 removing n installing fairing and storage space...

damage is $400 for cracked top fairing + broken left side fairing + knock dent fuel tank(by another party) n spray paint work. Fuel tank was well done but the fairing paint closed up c not so evenly sprayed...

i wont say its no good, but can b better... got bike back by 10 days

its just that i need the bike badly to travel from Pasir Ris to Woodlands for work and Chinese New Year is round the corner...

if not i would have visit Tampines Industrial Gerry Looi which i used2, got a fellas Ah Hoon(working for car spray daytime) did excellent job for my previous RVF n even my Arai helmet but now take 2 weeks on waiting list + 10-14 days repairing think overshot CNY and he only work in the evening til shop close...

real quality job but i just cant w8 that long with a broken fairing...

mayb u guys 1 2 get some reviews from the Kallang 1

Anybody tried a 1/2 clutch 2nd gear and brake rear together before ... ur bike will get a bit of vibration rite??? ... mine's a little bit more complex ...

Will have that kind of vibration when slowing down braking ... hard braking ok.

will also happen when i clutch in full and brake sometimes

had my wheel and rotor checked out ... mech said fine

changed my cone bearing 1 week ago

changed my 3 pairs of brake pads 1 week ago

Bleed the brake hose coz suspected that was it ... (but that was not it)

if anyone has had this problem before, can advice me on what to do??

And now i also got another problem ... used to get about 280 per full tank ... so when 2 bar fin going to 3rd bar i should have done about 70-80 km .... But now i 2 bar fin going to 3rd bar i clicked 110km already ... Y got so much excess arhh?? ... riding style same 90-100 bassically travel jurong tuas everyday ... transport through and fro from work only... anybody have gone through this drastic change in mileage??

injector? or injection pump? or sparkplug? or got any other possibility

1 piston down? or valve stuck? or tapped too loose? or fuel lousy grade?

your bike consume less fuel you also complain? haha... just joking.

Most likely it's some error in the fuel gauge. Nothing to worry. Use the total mileage per tank to calculate is more accurate than judging base on the fuel gauge. Unless you feel a loss of power or something.

Or maybe the wind was blowing in the right direction? keke...

Solved it .... surf through the net and had gather some info on the fault and narrowed down the possibility to come to a conclusion to use the cheapest mode of repair first (Fuel injector cleaner) and suprisingly i worked ...

it's either a damaged spring or a broken shim in the fuel injection system or a major clog at the injector tip .... hehehe

Bought a Blue Coral fuel injector cleaner and used sparingly according to instruction ... guess what happen when i tried it at the nshw .... used to top at 245km/hr this time round hit a top of 254km/hr and i did not read the meter wrongly ... yess it was 254km/hr hehehe .... sometimes problem which looks big can be solve by the most cost efficient way.
