Ok guys, i installed a car DVR (Blackvue DR550GW) instead since i lazy to keep taking the cam out for charging etc. Now i need to think of ways to prevent them from being stolen, and also being water-proof. Silly me.

Perhaps you could look for a plastic cylinder or bottle and place it inside to waterproof it. About it getting nicked I have no solution besides placing it somewhere not so obvious.

wandering if there was more insight to the camera.

the build quality of the camera etc..

and whether mounting this box will cause any resistance while riding.

I mounted on my helmet top. There's is a bit of a resistant. Maybe you will get used to it but for me I can't. Might be mounting it on bike instead.

I also installed 2 car cams on my scooter. Front I pasted on top of my IU above my meter. Rear paste under box like papabread. The front cam is in plain sight and its still there 1 year on. Mine is a smaller cam. As for water proofing. I use clear silicon to cover all the buttons and gaps except the lens and sd card area. But now my videos are blurry. Could be because dust and dirt got under the lens.

Has the silicone ever let u down during a heavy downpour?

I am currently thinking of using those AC insulation foam and have it wrapped ard the tube cam. Clingwrap seems a bit flimsy.

Saw a rider who should not be on the roads but the tracks instead. I had to go slow due to the double decker bus ahead which was negotiating a bend and also the trffic light was red. I do not see a need to speed up. The double decker bus pretty much occupied one and a half lane. I do not like to be in between a concrete barrier and a double deck bus. Definitely not one that is negotiating a bend. :nono:

Pardon me but I just do not have the guts to do such. I would like to be able to ride again another day everyday. But that is just me. Waking up in hospital once and pretty much not knowing what happened till months later is enough for me.

Once bitten twice shy.

At least you remembered. I rear ended a car and 2 years later still couldn't remember wtf happened. Only the final snapshot before my helmet hit the car.

Ok I apologize if this has been answered in previous post, but any reviews on the polaroid x10?

rode in heavy rain, parked in heavy rain. 1 year later still working. And I only silicone the front cam. Rear is untouched.

Ok, thanks. Maybe i will go your way.

And yah, having it placed under the rear box does offer alot of protection from the rain and splashes.

After a whole lot of MRI and rehab and thousands of dollars before I get flashbacks. Hope everything turns out good for you.

I dun own a SJ4000 but a GoPro Hero 3 instead. Definitely will have resistance while riding but i dun really feel it until i hit abt 120km/h

Why said countor is closed or not supported? Still there : http://contour.com/

FYI, I too had been looking at a Contour Camera, and then somehow stumbled upon this after realizing everything they were offering on their store was not available: CONTOUR Returns to POV Camera Market

CONTOUR... is now under new ownership... After completing a financial overhaul ... CONTOUR is back on the map as a legitimate player in the POV world.

Anyway, will look at the alternatives for now, who knows how Contour's cameras / service will be going forward. Have looked at a number of options: iON, Polaroid XS, Kodak, etc, but not sure... there's also a new one which Sena (who make intercoms) is launching shortly as well, with voice control?

I'm leaning towards that Polaroid XS100, but have to find a seller to ship at a decent price. A hard-mounted DVR alternative is always a possibility I guess, but would have the same concerns on safety of the cameras...

Where do u place the RAM mount? I planning to mount on handle bar or handle bar brace. So each time u park your bike, u unscrew and remove the top part of the Ram mount tgt wif ur Gopro?
