With all due respect to the people here, I'm amazed by how much they know about such technicalities and as much as I admit I don't know much about modifications to the s4, I am entitled to give my opinion about people wanting to mod their bikes. I myself prefer my s4 to be the way it is built for. That said, people can do whatever they want with their creative ideas, and I can say whatever I feel within my own free will.

 

If you are saying I'm a joker because of that, then think again, you are actually "me" insulting other people because of their alternative views. Aren't you insulting your ownself now? So may I kindly suggest you retract your statement?

of all the long term bikes i've ever had, honda makes the best stock mirrors of all the manufacturers. especially the ones that come stock on the super4 400, 750 and 1300. the only oem mirrors that i know surpass honda's are the ones fitted on bmw k-series in the 80s. and those you could bludgeon an elephant to death with.

(btw, those are not the genuine jap POSH units you find in mags, real POSH quality is way better n mucho pricy). the other one is signal lights, i used to run tiny ones thinking they were pimpin, but several near misses convinced me that i'd rather be as visible as possible and riding, as opposed to hanging out at the morgue.

 

so hey, if you're good with vibrating mirrors and would trade clarity for uber kool looks, that's your call.

 

on a side note, i sure would like to give those wide and high scram bars a try. it seems to me you get better leverage because of the length, plus the reduction in weight (lighter bar/minus stock balancers) would translate to lighter steering. but the vibration is a downer tho.

okie .. everyone has his/her own opinions.. it's gd to have a gd discussion once awhile.. not flaming..

but i like to start with something which i agree with you, ie, the POSH suspension extenders... Dat stuff is one thing which i, myself would not even consider putting on my super4 at tat time no matter how cool it was to have a 'jack up' rear.. like you, i am quite wary about the strength of the metals used ( i have seen these things break before at bike workshop ) plus also, in my opinion it affects the handling of the bike esp when cornering at high speed..

 

i also agree with you about irresponsibility towards personal safety. tat's y i nvr used those rxz 'saitao' for my super4 as the headlight is not as bright as stock n prone to failure.. and i also nvr changed my signal lights to smaller ones as i still prefer stocks ones for it's high visibility.

 

another thing which i will agree with you is the quality of honda super4's stock mirror. It is really good, with the long stalk and wide view.. however..

 

the mirrors are good if ur using it with stock bars.. with a wider bar, the long stalk of the stock mirror will cause the mirror to be extending out.. we all know that when we adjust the mirror, it must show a bit of our shoulders to have a better view of the back.. with the short stalk mirror on a wider bar, u can achieve that.. i can see view of the back quite clearly.. to me, it's gd enough..

 

wider bars does not mean more vibration.. i don't see nor feel those vibrations after installing those bars.. it still feel the same as stock bars only your grip is wider den usual.. there are also many factors dat can cause vibration to the bars, uneven tyres, worn out bearings, dented rims, ill-setup forks and some cases, vibration from the engines ( those riding thumpers should know .. i am not sure about reduction of weight though.. there's no difference when riding at 50/60/70/80/90km/hr without balancers, it's higher speed den abit of concern with this matter.. even so, there's the option of a steering damper for that.

 

riding is about attitude.. gd rd attitude brings gd rider no matter wat bike he/she ride.. it is not the bike tat makes the man, the man that makes the bike..

FUNNY IDEAS ? referring to? do u think this is funny? , this are the creatives side of us who rode for 6yrs plus bikers and not funny ideas, did u appreciate any of the bikers comments here or did u post back in kind? yet non of ur replys earn our respect to u .

As far as i concern, such needed accessories are to built up the bikes for it out look, bikers who earn hard times money just to tone up their ( Wife ) with the best if they can affort to, let me question u : do u take good care of ur bike should it break down? if yes u should stand on other bikers shoes and see feel how hard is it to bring up such hard time money rather suffer themselves jus to pamper their bikes and groom it nicely so long ones are happy with it.

 

U have a long way to go small boy, needless for me to tell u what to do the next time u post, learn from ur stupid mistake and respect the rest by putting ur words in a correct way and it should be , have u ever dump a few thousands dollars one shot when ur bikes is in need? u will reach this stage very soon should ur bike is sick.

If I said something that is against the thread and you seniors consider it "against forum rules", then I apologise for that.

 

I WILL respect people who criticise the content of my thread, but I certainly won't respect people who put words into my mouth and accuses me of being "some joker here". And it means nobody else but you dennis.com.sbf. what the fcuk. why use scrambler handlebar? is to strength the bar in the event of crash or drops...

btw when u wan to use the scrambler bar. u need to cut short the bar by a bit.. so the the length is about the same... not juz for the looks!

RIGHT - if u buy a low or mid bend scram bars, u might have to cut a bit, about 1 inch on each side, so as to accomodate the brake lines and clutch cable..
