Fellow Ducatista...

Today is a sad day for me; my beloved 1098, 1 of only 3 yellow ones in Singapore has to go up for sale as I'll be leaving the country.

Here are the links to the adverts (sniff sniff)...

Pass the word around...only serious buyers please.

i think he would if the other bike models were few enuff... just like vtrs... otherwise it would deemed mission impossible to find that rider. would he still apologise? well, at least i would.

Hi..

Need help urgently,

Just bought a used 999 about a week ago, started the bike today and realise that there wasn't any pressure at the clutch lever, the LCD panel illuminated with 'CODE'. Tried to engage into 1st gear but didn't allow to do so. Can any bro advise on this.

Cheers.

The hydraulic system is probably leaking. Check that the clutch fluid level.

Also check for fluid stains on your engine casing flowing downwards from your clutch slave pump. This would imply leakage from the slave pump.

If the clutch fluid level is fine and there are no signs of leakage, you might want to consider bleeding the line to eliminate any air inside.

The CODE message has to do with the immobliser system, nothing to do with your clutch. Do you the user manual? Refer to pg 22 ('03 model) or pg 23 ('05 model). If you don't have the manual, PM me. I'll send you a snapshot of the page.

Obviously for Ducati there is Minerva, or alternatively HKL at Bukit Merah or Racewerks at Ubi.

When it cames to immobilizer issues, I strongly suggest u visit Minerva! But if it's other stuffs like engine oils or bleeding of pumps, any trustworthy of ur familiar workshops can settle that for U easily!

Check the clutch reservoir, see if its empty.

I had the leaky clutch problem before, had to buy a bottle of brake fluid and top up myself at the petrol station. Careful not to spill any, even one drop WILL BURN YOUR NICE PAINT! Use a huge rag and do not take chances. New aftermarket clutch slave cylinder is cheaper and lighter than stock item.

If the immobilizer fault does not clear after several tries, try using the red key. If it still doesn't work, the sensor might be damaged. But you can still enter the ignition codes on the card that accompanies the red key. This complex procedure is listed in the owner's manual.
