thought of sharing some DIY.

started using fibre glass to form a mould over the top of hugger but fail after 3 tries. think i bought the wrong glass fibre which is too stiff. so went straight to "destroy" my original hugger and used the underside as the actual mould.

this is 2 layer of CF with epoxy.

hugger 1 pic - left is the CF version. I use my daughter changing mat to "catch" any oversplit. hehehee....

it does not look like CF cos I have yet to remove the wax (yellow) layer. need to find time to do so. then will have to spray vanish it to finish. I would probably sand it down and add another layer for matt finish.

hugger 2 pic - bottom is the CF version, underside.

hugger weigh 1 - weigh of CF verson is less than 100g!!!!! even with a 3rd layer over it!!!!

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj20/No_79796/huggerweight1.jpg

hugger weigh 2 - weigh of original hugger at about 400g!!!

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj20/No_79796/huggerweight2.jpg

just sometihng i do to avoid nags from wivy!!! hhehehee....

amazing work bro! your workmanship is excellent! did you create a mess trying to lay the sheets in the binder? what did u use? epoxy or polyester?

anyway, you can get most of your stuff from wee tee tong.

show us what other product you have. craftsmanship ftw!

Thanks andytankk....

its pretty sticky messy. very amature so used lots of gloves and also brushes.

for the moment only the rear hugger as i totally screwed up the original. so die die must make it...hahahaa.....

got my stuff from wee tong chee and would recommend getting the PVC for de-moulding purpose as the de-bonding wax still leave it traces as you get see from the first pic. so need to find time to sand is off and reapply expoxy. but wat the hack, instead i went to make another cf rear hugger yesterday usng the topside of the original so tat watever ugly after removing from mould is "covered up". this time i used engine oil for debonding purpose.

will do other part when free.

done an exhaust guard yesterday. will try to fit it up to protect the lower Temi exos from being scratched (touch-wood/metal) in case of falls). will upload pic when done.

i quit using mould. took off the exos and wrapped to protect from stains. then just applied the stuff and CF cloth directly. think getting a hang of it so pretty easy. just the mess that needs to be cleaned up afterwards.
