I called the traffic police here and ask about conversion of license and they said, even if I have a full class Malaysia license, after conversion, I will only get a sinagapore basic license, which is up to 200cc..... and have to take the theory test to get my 2b which will take about 2years.....

 

However when I was at ducati the other day, mary said I could buy a bike, with my Employment Pass....

 

Any expatriates could advise on this matter?

I suggest you convert your license first, owning a bike and riding a bike is a hell lots of difference. Can buy bike does not mean can ride. Your license after conversion, if it is 2B, then how are you going to ride your bike? Keep it for 2 years? Or sell it at a discount?

 

I believe M'sia license if from KL is converted to class 2, only johor license is class 2B, thats what I heard. So go to KL to get your license first if you want to convert.

However when I was spoke to Mary at ducati...she was assuring me that I could buy a bike with my EP...as long the insurans were able to cover it...however I am still a little doubtful...

 

But I am taking a basic theory test in October...just hope I pass and get done with it and and appeal for a higher cc license and see how that goes....

Couple of years ago, my friend went down to TP with proof - photos and ownership details, of him riding a Harley in the States and got himself converted to class 2.

Dont know if that will work now. But no harm appealing.

a affordable/manageable one as such,look no further!

met 1 guy dis morning who is selling his multistrada 1000 ds , think he's going for the evo?

to cut a long story short , its a 2003 model in silver in its 2nd ownerhip with full accessories!(but no gps,no air to ground missile launcher&definitely no traction control!)

the best part is ,finance still oustanding with looi's motor so u can juzz walk in & do a deal!

i 've personal x'perience , if a bike is fully pay for/cash payment,there's a lot of hassle getting a refinance,dis is very much easier.

& mr lee(heard his son is in charge ,now) ,very reputable & honest but sometime not cheap(gotta make a living,mate)sure can work out sumthing,one.

I collected my bike from Ducati service today. It was a small problem. The voltage regulator spoilt. They changed it and the bike is good again. Hohoho!~~

“Wow!!!” is what I can say…. I am sooooo glad that I found this forum by accident (searching for Ducati decals, believe it or not). This forum is so awesome for bikers like myself who miss home a lot…

 

Malaysian-born but spent my entire teenage years in Singapore, so my early days motorcycling experience splits between the two places. However, riding a motorcycle was mainly a way of more economical transport during those times. If you have passion for motorcycle, you are either one of those 2-stroke-going-crazily-modified-street-racing-125CC Brother Beng or you are considered the outcasts…and forget about picking any nice-girl-next-door on your two wheels!

 

Things have definitely changed in Singapore and this forum really opens my eyes! Not only I see many female riders here in this forum, I see many Ducati Supersport riders who are female (like our pretty girl “NaP^TuNe” here... drooling over the place liao ) … although it is still a bit hard for me to imagine pushing those 400++ pounds monsters around as female riders, these hard-core female riders definitely get my most ultimate respect!

 

I wish I can join you guys in one of those long-distant rides too like the one you just posted from China… something I always wanted to do…. Maybe there will be an opportunity in the future. How did you bring the bikes over?

Termis...yummy!!! A Ducati really needs the termis increase the BOOM from the exhaust...BTW does the 796 come with a dry clutch?
