Clutch cover does not void the warranty. As for alarm. U have to buy the alarm from

ducati and get them to fix it. As such ur warranty will be covered with the alarm but it comes at a very exp price tag.

hello guys,

i'm new here...

anyone got news on the exact date of next shipment? i called Minerva, they told me that it'll be end of this month but no exact date :( my ride is on that shipment and i cant wait to ride again....

i have a few questions about warranty issues...i noticed alot Ducs are using the open clutch cover and they're kinda cool n catchy....if i were to fix it, will it void e bike warranty?

and i have a bike alarm system which i plan to fix on her (need to tap to battery and signal lights)....again, does it void e warranty?

see u guys soon :cheeky:

bro. As far as i have heard, try not to do any modifications such as changing the headlight, alarm, put stickers on your bike during the warranty period. If something crops up such as harness electrical short etc, they might fault you for installing non ducati approved merchandise thus warranty not covered. Thats why most new ducatis are stock to the bone only to have ducati items fixed on. Unlike the japanese bikes that we see with lots mods.

Lol....putting sticker will void warranty???

heard from one of the friend's friend story. Not sure its true or not. Apparently the stickers was placed very near to the air duct on the 1098. They says it has restricted the air flow plus heated up the bike more easily. Resulting electrical short.

Yeah. After considering the options in order

1. First ducati bike

2. Pillion Comfortability - Streetfighter, monster and 1xxx series no go for her.

3. Agility

4. Short getaway to Malaysia, maybe thailand?

5. Piggy bank

I decided to go for Hypermotard 1100 EVO. Wanna test water with minerva first. So those 36k and above reds can wait for future upgrade. As such i maybe a duke very very soon. ^_^

Hey Ian, nice to see you last night at the 1DTO gathering. Didn't get a chance to talk to you though. Anyway, the hyper is not the best for pillion comfort. Probably no better than the monsters and superbikes. Seating postion will make NSHW riding a pain and the range is quite small to go go touring comfortably. Sounds like a multi or diavel suits your needs best...maybe you can try the old multi 1100 instead. Much cheaper, simpler engine, less things to go wrong and cheaper to fix. Might be a better first ducati then the multi 1200 with all the electronics.

From what I read from your posts, seems that you are an avid tourer. As such, I advise against getting the Hypermotard unless you do not mind stopping countless number of times to fill up. The fuel tank is small, just 12 litres and the fuel consumption is well... let's just say non-friendly. My reserve light comes on arnd 120+ km. Cld be the way I ride as well. I reckon you are more of a Multistrada guy.

Yeah bro. We were busy catching up with old friends. ^_^

Thank you for the advise! ^_^ During my last 2 years, I had fulfilled most of my touring ambition. I been to western, eastern, northern and southern part of malaysia. I have gone to Hatyai, Krabi, Trang and Phuket too. Next plan is to bring my X1R to tour Golden Triangle. I probably dropped by songkran and koh samui then. That will complete the southern thailand. My ultimate goal is to ride thru Mae Hong Song with my bike. I want to challenge the 1894 corners! Apart the unfilled places, there aint much places to go by bike already.

After hearing the cost of service parts, accessories and fees from many friends, ducati is the last machine i would choose to tour on. Not because she cannot do it. Its mainly because i wouldnt bear to risk my wallets to do it. Besides i know nothing about minerva, nothing on their mechanics and have not gone thru the maintenance ordeal personally. I have not made friends with mechanics that will take care of my ducati too. All these building blocks will take years of foundation setting. Along the way, i will learn thru the both easy and hard way. Besides there are so much things to learn about the italian stallion too.

Diavel carbon is retailing 20k euro. That will put her on the range of the street fighter and multistrada. As i plan to do full payment, hence throwing down 40k-50k to TEST THE WATER on Minerva and ducati bikes are sorta risky.

The main crucial part of my decision actually lies in my new flat that is coming next year. As i plan to take up a very short HDB loan only so during these years, i have to take good care of myself and stayed in Singapore obediently. Because if anything happened to me during my tour out, the flat monthly installment will be a serious burden to my wife. That is the last thing i ever want it to happen to her. She is my lovely wife and will not be fair to her whom had supported and shared my motorbiking passion and touring dreams wholeheartedly for all five years. I have to fulfill hers too. To give her a cozy house which we called Home.

Hence touring will be back only after i completed 80% of the house loan. By then i will have ideas of how minerva works. That will decide whether HM will be my one and only italian stallion. Or One of the stallions which i will proudly own. ^_^

Sorry for the lengthy post. >_
