Hi guys, hope u guys can help.

Met with an accident on Friday, self skid due to oil trail on the road. Checked and I'm unable to claim a single cent from anyone.

I'm riding a Ducati 848 super bike. I need a fairing as my head and tail. If u guys have just these 2 parts for sale, it'll be awesome. If not please contact me if u have any fairings for sale.

Contact me @ 81335945 Nicholas thanks!

Just bought 2010 848 and notice I am getting avg 120km from full tank until reserve light comes on. This seems rather low mileage. Can anyone confirm is this is usual ??

very unusual. I used to get about 180km before reserve kicks in (stock exhaust), and about 160km with termis/race ecu. are u on stock set up? I normally can pump in about 11 litres just after the reserve light comes on.

Set your eBay search to worldwide. U can find some used for lower price. Pearl white hard to find tho.

I can do close to 200km before reserve and pump 10L plus when I was using stock end cans. Using Ron95. Now with race ecu and zard end cans, 170km plus and pump in 10L plus on Ron98.

So something is not right. Somewhere is burning off the fuel. Do u get backfire a lot?

Sorry to hear that happened to you, but thankfully the damage doesn't look too bad.

If you want cheap and good fairings I recommend http://www.motorcyclefairingz.com. All in about 500+ with shipping included. Quality is above average and fitment way better than the usual cheap china crap. It's fitted on my bike right now (pic in my sig) and I think it looks pretty good. Before I started using these fairings I had a full red set I bought from ebay, for roughly the same price. They were crap. Not saying all ebay sellers are bad but you do have to be careful who you buy from.

I have an extra set of fairings for my R if u are interested. Don't buy abs fairings and most importantly don't buy carbon fairings. Good luck.

Well, I think all of us would know, or at least understand in some way, how carbon behaves on impact -it shatters. Take any single piece of carbon fibre off any part of a bike and smash it onto the ground underneath you and what you'll find is that the "strong" carbon fibre simply shatters. Look at any carbon front fender and you'd probably see cracks in the resin infused into the carbon fabric due to the pitting of the stones from the road (I'm talking about carbon parts which are resin infused via vacuum, not prepreg carbon). Then imagine what would happen if you had a simple low side on your carbon fairings. I believe that the fairings probably wouldn't offer much protection over ABS plastics. In this case, the ABS plastics should offer more protection than the carbon fairings because the carbon fairings would just shatter. The hardened resin does not offer any flex and simply cracks at the smallest torsional force applied to it.

If you're wondering why carbon fibre is used extensively in exclusive production cars or even F1's monocoque then you must be aware that the their carbon fibre is woven specifically with the intent of maximum strength with minimal weight. To achieve the same goals on a set of fairings would see the dimensions of the fairings blown out of proportions, more than what it was designed to be.

Sure carbon fibre is used in MotoGP but the purpose of the fairings for a GP bike is to provide the aerodynamics needed with the minimum weight imposed on the total weight of the bike; they have a huge budget for replacement fairings. The fairings aren't there to protect the bike in event of a crash. Look at how the carbon shatters during FP or races.

Hope that answers your question Kenshin.

get those prepreg CF, light, swee and will not shatter upon impact.
