huh? this is a roadwin, and 2nd hand cost about 1.5 to 3k. Pretty affordable. Only thing is the owner changed the Side mirrors, windshield and exhaust.

Besides, the stock exhaust is chromed and looks nice too anyway. =)

wow... cool guess roadwin will be in my consideration list too... but how is it compared to a pulsar? as in performace and FC etc

Can't really compare bike to bike exactly. But definitely pulsar has got better FC than roadwin. Conservatively, roadwin can still hit 30 to 33km/l. Considerably good too. Performance wise, both are 4 strokers and

All in all, it's still your preference. Be it looks over performance, performance over look or balanced features.

Cheers.

actually height is not much of a problem when choosing a bike. the more important aspect is actually the aftersale. Choosing a trustworthy bike shop which does not burn big holes in your pocket is a bigger concern.

Of course, if there is a chance, mebbe u can go to the shop and sit on some of the bikes to check out the comfortableness.

hi kmjoe,

just wanna share with u my tots..

i used to ride a roadwin, n i'm riding a s4 now. roadwin's seat ht is way higher than s4, n that is something tall ple would want. i'm 1.83m myself. i initially wanted to get scrams cos i tot tall ple would look good in those, if not for the pricey maintenance. i've not tried alot of bikes before, but if u really dun mind the low power, i would recommend roadwin. furthermore, u can get a roadwin(2nd hand) + insurnace for under 2k.

the downs when i had my roadwin: the parts are definitely more expensive than honda parts, but cheaper than bajaj. n of cos, low speed n slow pickup, especially when u have a box, n u pillion.

well.. thats abt it.. wish u good luck in ur bike search!

cagiva mito is quite suitable for tall riders.. but its a bike a bit extreme in many aspects.

i'm juz below 1.8.

used to ride sp, now pgm.. both bikes, my knees and shin are touching the kickstart.

yah.. all the weight on the wrists.

and the handle bars can only turn a little bit, which make it hard to move around in car parks.

and the cornering a bit extreme, it wants to corner low only.. haha

other than that it's a stable bike with good brakes.

u not interested in scramblers or motards bro?

of the same cc, 2strokes will be far more powerful, but is also faster wear and tear, yet easier to repair.

4 stroke scrams are quite economical... try a xr125 for good fuel consumption

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

maxi scooters. Big and comfortable for tall people. im 1.8 and its comfortable. relaxing ride cos it auto. fc around 30km/l and even without box, enuff storage for fullface helmet gloves raincoat and a bag. cheap maintenance, not as cheap as wave and pulsar though.

Don't just buy buy. Everytime you change bike, you will lose $$.

Are you going to get an upgrade in 1 or 2 years time with 2A or even class 2?

If yes, then cheap cheap 2nd hand bikes will do. Fork out another $200+ to ensure bike don't give problems within the period.

In the mean time, save for your 2A bike.

After NS and once start work, 2A bikes should be affordable and just nice for local or occasional overseas travel.

yea... so im thinking if i should get a sp and than get a 2a for a super 4 OR get a pulsar and keep it... as pulsar do hav a better FC than s4... right?

Posted

Don't think many bikes got pulsar FC... even for class 2B.

Depends on ride intention.

If purely local or near Johor, then pulsar very good ler.

But S4 can go to North Thailand, Cambodia and beyond...
