I changed my rear brake pads today and noticed the brake disc had also worn out considerably. How much will it cost to change the disc at the shop? How much does a disc cost if I want to DIY?

cant exactly recall.. my one 3rd party one under 100 but > 60 i remb.. original one is much more expensive.

At the end of the swingarm are 2 graduated scales, one on each side. which are used as reference for chain tension adjustment. On the scale, there is a double arrowhead line (see photo). Anybody knows what it means? Does it denote the upper limit?

IIRC double head arrow on both side supposed to mark the position of the rear wheel axle washer edge.. supposed to mark and correspond with the label which tells whether chain is worn... which looks faded to me on your bike -_-

My Phantom gives me only 27 km/litre. Is it normal for short journeys riding most of the time or it's considered rather high? My position is that it should give me around 30k.

Sorry if the question has been asked before, but is there any possibility to install a fuel gauge for TA200 and roughly how much ?

Thanks in advance !

Would be interested as well, if there's a cheap possibility.

Can anyone please tell me how to remove the seat to get to the wiring, there is some security alarm I would like to remove because it no longer work well and is there draining the batt.? I tried removing the back screw but there seems to be more to be removed.

Where are the other mounting points? Is there one one the right left and right shock? It seems to be tight there. There is one nut in front but it is somehow blocked by the cushion. I didnt tackle that one because I am not sure if it is mounting something else.

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could advise if changing of the fuel tank on the phantom is considered illegal? The previous owner replaced the phantom fuel tank with a Suzuki GN125's fuel tank. :|

Hey guys,

I am not sure if my phantom have problems or not,

I have notice that my mileage is about 25km/l.

Is it normal ?? Or what should I do to improve fuel consumption..

Please advise :)

25km is very low for a Phantom, even when its an old bike. Having said so, there may be a lot other factors affecting FC, i.e. dirty air filter, total laden weight (bike weight, rider's weight, plus whatever is mounted and carried), riding style.

Mine has a crashbar, windshield (increased drag) and i carry a lot of other stuff, plus I am fat and heavy. But my phantom's FC is about 32 - 35km depending on riding style and distances covered (longer distances covered each time = better fuel consumption).

Try cleaning or changing the air filter first. You may be surprise who it can affect your FC.

Let me put it this way. On my old phantom, i had topbox+ 2 sideboxes, usually fully loaded. Plus me weighing almost 100kg + pillion, i was getting lowest of 31km/l. So u definitely have an issue. Suggest chg air filter first. Then monitor. If still bad, ask ur mech to check the carburettor. Maybe the PO play with the tuning and change the jets.

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

Very low for your mileage. I used to fetch someone plus myself to and fro, 36-38km/L. Usual days are up to 42km/L.

One top box 48L.

how much to change an air filter? If buy and change myself would it be cheaper?

I only took it out to wipe but never wash before. My mileage isn't too good too but I got 2 side 1 45 top, tires at 210 and ride in stop go traffic only.

Buy from LAB, 10 bucks. But I tried using LAB and one which my mech got from his supplier at Bt Timah. I may not be an expert, but there is a noticable difference at low revs.

There is also some other things you could do. Like sending your bike for a carb wash (ard $35), or using a add-in-tank fuel injector cleaner (buy from Petrol kiosk), or maybe you can pump one tank of Caltex (since they claim to have Techron which cleans your injectors).

For me, I tried most things. The most recent trial i did on my ride was to buy a Fuel Catalyst. Still testing and monitoring the effectiveness.

I've been looking very hard for this type of helmets - minimal shell (almost no protection to the back of the head), but not half cap.

The closest lookalike was a Bell (DOT approved helmet in AMA) but my size (XXL) spoils the look of the helmet as compared to the L size.

Went to :

LAB - Kelantan Lane

Shops around Kelantan Lane

AMA - Kim Keat Road

Koon - Lengkok Bahru

219 and nearby shops.

Anyone have idea where I can find such helmets in Singapore?

i saw one at lab

Found my desired helmet at Golden Wall Centre (89, Short Street) shop selling Vespa Accessories. $75, tinted visor $10. Quality : 3/5, Design 5/5 (skull-shorty type I like)
