well it is norm for insurance to be expensive coz u are riding 1000cc sportsbike. for yr case no doubt will be pretty expensive den.

i took up 2nd party.. which is actually in actual terms 3rd party fire and theft covered.

for new bikes its better to take out at least fire and theft covered. if got money better still 1st party.

read fr US R1 forum that got lag of throttle..bet i like the new 16 valve engine which deliver smooth power and will re-solve the tic tic sound..

Actually to compare the prices,Yamaha R1 is a bit expensive than those 1000cc sportbikes 2007 Japan model.like Suzuki k7 ,Honda cbr1000 and even kawasaki zx1000.probably bcoz of the hi technology that they used on R107.very impressive.

 

Neway i juz check the prices through website in the US and make my own calculations. not sure when these bikes came in spore,whether the price will be differently that that quoted in the Website. one thing for sure due to Govt tax so on and so forth.

 

actually i don really intend to change my Fazer 05 1000cc model yet.but as i went to the motor show and spoke to ASP staff. i found that the offer really attractive. aside fm the 10% interest in 3 yrs. they gave me $200 worth of accessories voucher. yamaha racing jacket and gloves,ff helmet courtesy of HL plus ASP free gift like rain coat and bike covers. so since i really dream of that bike and the offer is so good to resis.so why not grab it before the exhibition ends.

 

Hopefully i will see u guys getting that bike too we can be 1 company..and not forgetting the rest of the bikers. We are Still Riders in Sg rite..

1st batch of 2007 R1 is already in sg since mid dec 06.

 

the only catch is 1st batch is sold to their own old time customers.

 

the apr batch is considered as the 2nd batch which you all will get your bikes from the respective dealers like asp, speedway or mah or watever.

 

you shd see 6 ... 07 R1 by end of jan.

If there will be 6 pieces of the bike on the road in late Jan, I am curious how many bikes does HL bring in at each shipment? It does not make sense to me for HL to bring in just 6 bikes.

 

I heard earlier this year there was also a delay in production for the K6. It is said there was a shortage of Titanium and aluminium ores. I guess its because the A380 is hogging all these ores and us bikers have to wait for our turn

certainly there are some reasons that HL are importing bikes bit by bit and tru batches.

probably thew wanna see whether the demand is there in SG especially.

otherwise u can see those like K6 1000cc bikes leftover in the some bike shps.

coz ppl know that k7 is coming in feb, ppl will juz wait and see. if they don mind the previos model,they will buy at a cheaper price. now the price of k6 1000cc is at 18 k. so much difference..

guys wat i heard was that there was a recall of the 07'r1. Not too sure y though. But looking at the intense technology being put into the production .... pretty scary i wld say.

its abit odd that there is a recall even before the bike is delivered to their owners.

 

I have a feeling its just rumors created to discourage ppl from booking the bike so the shops can clear out the existing bikes they have. I saw in several shops that they still have the K6 750s, 1000s, CBR1000s and 06R1s. But then again its just me.

since i have already booked that r107.. asphoon have called that the bike will be coming late feb.. sigh.. juz too bad..

i have been tracking them lately since they promise me to deliver by dec..

 

and have been giving me few explanations. so now they called and informed me that. how true it is..jus wait and see lor..

 

i actually want to cancell it but they seems reluctant to.. so i believe they want to attract customers wif their promise.

must ask for compensation den..hehehhe

Redders, finally i have made up my mind and placed a booking for the 07r1.

 

my workshop told me from their experience usually HL will take in only 10 pieces of the machines and they cant tell if i will get the first shipment. Likely will have to wait for the 2nd shipment. Even HL is tight lipped about the bike delivery.

 

Anyhow, i am not hoping to get the bike so soon. Dont want to hope too much and get disappointed when its delayed. Now i am eyeing the Termis as the first aftermarket part for the bike.

dat day went back again to asp to satisfy myself .. asked them abt de bike delivery . HL infd delivery will be by late feb. thats what HL said..(said one of the staff.)bike shipment is delayed fm japan

redders, my workshop could not tell me the machine price yet. I have asked HL and they too just give me a ball park figure of 21K-22K. I would not be certain how much the bike will finally cost OTR. I placed my booking with Gerry Loois.

 

I think you should get the first shipment since you have booked the bike very early. As for me, I would not put too much hope on the first shipment since i booked much later.

 

what i meant by Termis are Termigonis, the after market exhaust pipes. But its unlikely i will get it. I am just drooling over it.

Funny how R107 is late in it's arrival here. I already saw some shops with CBR1000RR '07 in its boxes..

 

From wat I heard, is that Yammie is waiting for other brand names to release theirs 1st so that they can grab the bikes for comparison.

 

Such that, when ppl see R107, it's like, "Wahhh!!! Saw all the latest bikes from the other brand names liao but is nothing compared to the latest R1. This 1 is awesome!!!"

my guess is that the R1 is all new. In 07 there is only the r1 and K7 that is all new. the Blade and ZX in 07 is the same as previous. I recall the K6 was also delayed too.

 

So i guess thats why there are 07 Blades in the shops. Its faster to respray new colours than to make a new bike hehe. ;P
