Yes, you do need to book an appointment for donating platelets, cos 1 cycle is about 2 hours to complete, and dun think there is enough machine if too many donors.:sweat:

Just went to releast blood on 24th....

Just found out, after declar yrself on the questionia, Doctor in the house will ask question like this:

Are you Married? Yes.

Do you do tattoo or piercing recently? No.

Do you have sex with others, other than yr wife? No.

Do you have sex with any male recently?? No

.

.

.

About the last question.....in my mind i was thinking: Nbz....do my face look like 1 that need to????:bouncefire: :bouncefire:

 

I never blame the doctor asking those question, infact i think is good to ask.

After reading 3 HIV carriyer been charge donating blood to blood bank on the news paper, guess nowsaday common sence are not common any more!!:giddy:

SINGAPORE : Singapore's blood banks are drying up, sparking an urgent appeal for donations.

 

Blood stocks have fallen so low that elective surgeries are being postponed.

 

The prolonged rain and festive celebrations have resulted in fewer blood donors coming forward in the past few weeks.

 

The Singapore Red Cross, together with the Bloodbank at Health Sciences Authority (HSA), are now making an urgent appeal for blood donors to come forward to ensure there is enough blood supplies for transfusion needs.

 

Any healthy individuals, aged between 18 and 60 and weighing above 45 kilogrammes, can head down to the bloodbank at HSA, located at 11 Outram Road, to make a blood donation.

 

The public can call 6220-0183 for more enquiries.
