hi guys, went to my mech and he said the bike i bought has many problems which i didnt see when i bought. (note i bought from diff shop)

so he pointed out:

-rpm meter spoilt( salesman already pointed out but must pay extra. i was confident i could get a better price other place so didnt fix)

-rear right suspension leaking

-front braking soft. he said the pump something wrong but can still brake.

-slightly leaking eo at block

-rear disc 'makan' alot but still 'brakeable'

hope bros here can advise which one to do first. and roughly the cost how much. my mech say the rpm meter new one is 600 bux. anywhere can get cheaper?

Ii would fix d leaking eo prob first.. Then d braking problems. Meter wise, can be d last problem to solve as ur speed meter still werking. A new meter at ah boy is 200 plus.. U wan cheap, jus fix an autogauge r meter lor.. Hahaah

whoaaa!!!

Ur bike got many problem to solve ha....

Nvmd, first thing first.

1. Front brake - try to open the pump at the handle side and see whether there is it mouldy or not or the needle in the pump is worn out - which is usually quite rare.

2. Rear disc - get a int/ext measuring caliper and measure ur disc brake. See if it meets the minimum requirement. If it does,no problem. If not, u hv to change - for your own safety.

3. Slight leak at blok - if the leak is quite slight (meaning a thin film forming on it, then it's endurable - though quite heart pain to see - but if you want, the best is still do top overhaul. It would help eradicate the problem. Temporary solution is to apply the liquid gasket at the side but it certainly looks ugly!

4. Rear right suspension leaking - original showa or other brand? If showa, then u can go jb motorshop to make. They can do there for around RM 180 i think.(per pair)

Lastly - If your bike still got guarantee (normally they give 2 weeks to a month, tell them to change the meter for u. Dun pay, demand! Otherwise just return the bike and ask for money back cos not worth buying something that cos thousands of dollars and yet get defective goods. The salesman pointed out to you about it and if you accept that as part of the deal.....then no say. But try to convince the shop to go half-half with you in changing the rpm meter.

Many things to do before you get ur bike to optimum condition. 10 yr old bikes are like that, takes time to heal and bring it back to health. But after that, you'll probably enjoy ur ride more than ever. And if there were to be any problem, you know where to troubleshoot!

Good luck bro!

Oh but i change my needle already all 4 of them. But the mech say the thing the mechanism moves the needle up and down in the carb is loose already. To change one is about 50 bucks. But if say now if i ride no problem then don't need to replace but i wonder in the long run will it affect the performance of the bike. anyway mine is a vtec 2. Thanks for your advice btw

The mechanism to move the needle up and down should be loose otherwise how to move?!!

Monitor your RPM,speed and FC as you go along. Check your RPM at 100km for now and monitor it. If your RPM increases a month later to achieve the same speed, then your carb needs a check otherwise it should stay just fine.

long handle bar gt 2 type.. one 7/8 inches(stock bar diameter) and 1 1/8inches(fatbar,u need a addtional clamp for this)

7/8- will give u a more aggressive posture as u are all stretch out when riding, but bad for ur back and arm

fatbar- give a more up-right sitting as the extra clamp 'jack' up the bar.

popular brand- renthal, pro tapper, gpr,...

high end bar-rizoma, sun line,zeta....

okay.. u have pics of the diff handle bar? i wanna see.. especially the rizoma.. seems like everyone's talkin bout it.

just google it. =) got blue/gold/silver/black/red. but i think SG only left with black/gold/silver colour.

Dear All''

I have been experiencing difficult cranking & start up for my bike.

I have changed the battery, rectifier, Spark Plugs, Enginer Oil, Air filter & Oil Filter, can anyone know what is the cause?

I just lost my keys recently & have fabricated a new one, is the key the cause of sometimes diffi to start problems?

FAST is NOT dangerous,Reckless is

I remember start from spec2, there is HISS protection. Every original key, there is a unique chip in the key. Normal key maker won't able to duplicate the key with chip.

If your "HISS" light still on, you'll can crank but bike won't start.

Hi guys, I just took over a spec 1 from my friend. His tail light has been swapped for a spec3 tail light at a local shop. The thing is I realize it's original signal light is missing as it is integrated with the tail light.

I'm bringing the bike for inspection soon. Will this pass inspection or do I have to rewire the original signal lights back?

Any experience from you guys?

Inspection won't pass.

what I did, send to bike shop, make sure they have the signal lights for ur bike

pay them for labour charge, your choice to pay the shop to send in for inspection or DIY

That is all.
