Hi super4 user

I have question to ask... I going to buy a super4 Spec 3 for 7k... COE end at 2017 mileage 60k+++ which the owner never been touch or service and inspection for 2 year (due to overseas) battery is flat with some rust... do u all guy think is worth it? I know it going to do a full service change battery and tyre like that.... Could I hear from u guys for advices please

Thank a lot in advance :thumb:

Shop selling super 4 spec 3 Coe till 2018 for $15k including interest. I think $7k is quite a good bargain... Maybe u can try negotiating with the seller to lesser about $500? So u can use it to service the bike... But where is the rust located at? Bike frame or battery? Bike frame rusty, it will affect the sturdiness or the bike... Maybe will crack or break if if drops... Check properly...

Just ensure the engine is healthy, no weird noise when running and no oil leak. I think this is the most important part.

Yes, 7k is super good deal for spec 3.

Rust on the fork no problem... Handle bar also... Autosoil and some sand paper will do the trick... Exhaust pipe or line? What is exhaust line? If header rusty is no big deal, it's common for it to rust...

hi guys,

last night my bike toppled over on the Right side because although the neutral lamp was on, apparently it wasn't in neutral so when I started it while not on the bike, it jerked and fell over.

last time, when my bike toppled on the Left side, I only had to wait 30min before I could ststart it again. now, it toppled on the right and after an entire night, it still can't start.

I remembered my workshop saying that my choke lever isn't connected so it's pretty much useless. :(

any remedy I can do myself? else ill have to spend on towing and service. sigh. wad a bummer. :(

thanks guys.. :(

I not sure... But I think it's FBC plate... Damn expensive la...

Dunno which shop your friend bought the bike from but it is way overpriced.

Should have look at more shops to have more options.

It may be your "valve-clearance thingy" or your clutch housing.. Sound will go off when it's warmed up..

Thanks for the reply! Is there a need to do the valve clearance? or change clutch housing?

Depends on your bike condition.. Very subjective question..

Wat I say is just a rough estimation only..

Need your trusted mechanic to tell you the verdict of your bike

As long as the noise goes away after the engine warms up, it's normal. Just take it as honda cb400 engine characteristic.

Let me try to help u. As far as I understand,

spec 1 - vtec comes at rpm 6750 n above for all gears, old tail design, no HISS system

spec 2 - vtec comes at rpm 6300 n above for all gears, old tail design, got HISS system, fuel consumption higher but also more powerful (vtec kicks in early) than spec 1

spec 3 - vtec comes at rpm 6300 for gear 1,2,3,4,5 and rpm 6750 for gear 6, new tail design, got HISS system, fuel consumption better than spec 2

revo - same as spec 3 with the changes it's now using fuel injection system instead of carb, hence power delivery smoother but fuel consumption becomes higher

Hope it helps.

Hi r1der, it helped a lot. Thank you!

Before this, i only heard people say certain spec more power than other spec etc, but nothing much of detail. General advice was to get spec 3 or revo cos newer and less likely to have problems.

Yes it's quite true. If u looking for class 2 bike but hav to wait for 1 year to get the licence, u can consider to buy spec 1 or spec 2 as temporary bike. To me, i chose spec 2 than spec 1 bcoz its slightly newer, got hiss sys n pricing wise not much difference wit spec 1. Of course, d fuel consumption is higher, but only if u open the vtec oftenly.

If u looking to buy for long term usage, i would suggest to buy new or 1-2 yrs old revo. To be frank, spec 3 is really over priced in my view. More than 5 years old but the price can be up to 15k. Hence, i would not recommend someone to buy spec 3, but to topup 1-2k more which can get a NEW revo! :cheeky:

Well, i got 4months more to 2A. Am currently looking out for spec 3 or revo. Once i get class 2, will definitely upgrade again. But a bit phobia of old bikes, cos i spent a lot on my SP. hahaha...
