hi im a noob s4 rider. just got a spec II this afternoon. ive been in gileras for the past 8 yrs or so and totally been out of the manual gear bikes. anyway cruising at 90km/h and the rpm is abt 6k is this normal? just need a quick gauge here, thnx very much. :s

Just a question to those S4 riders who changed aftermarket handlebars, is it for better handling, better cornering, lesser vibrations? Or just for the looks? :cheeky:

quick question. anybody knows how much original side mirror (spec 2) costs? or any good quality one that doesnt vibrate when u going at higher speed? thanxxxxxxx

hi guys.i am riding a spec 1.. when my bike is hot then i put it to idling ,if i rev a bit the rpm tends to drop alot ,sometimes even causing my bike to store.anybro can advice??

may i know when is the need to do valve clearance for s4? or any tell tale indication to look out for a need to servicing it?

Hi bro. Sorry I could not help and solve the issue as i m a newbie to biking but I am also wondering what could be the cause of it. I hope other bro out there can share the solution?

IMHO, it only happened to me when engine is cold in the morning. Not hot. But ofcuz i don't high rev when engine is cold in the morning, definitely will stall and not good for engine.

can try bike production, republic motor or hkl . but ofcuz you gottta bring yr fren bike to the shop there as well for inspection.

Hi, ugu3tz.

Did your temp light switch on?

Did you check your coolant reservoir?

If your temperature sensor working?

Is your radiator fan in working condition?

 

Cause, if I may be allowed to make a humble guess, would reckon that your bike does not have sufficient cooling?

When your bike already hot, check if your radiator cool. If yes, your bike then cannot dissipate heat.

Happened to my frens Ver S. The cause is his radiator hose got leak - but then again, the bike, and hose more then 10 years already...

Hey guys..does changing header gasket improve fc?currently my spec 2 is doing 280km plus reserve..i have done carburator overhaul and most internal items..damn sian liao have to kip topping fuel frequently..all bearing chain sprockets have been change..everyting else is okay..i dun tink 280km plus reserve is normal..nid sum inputs..

my temp light not on lei then fan and radiator fan is working so maybe is coolent got problem?

I nver changed my header gasket before..

 

Get a constant 410-420km inclusive of reserve.

 

Been constant since I took over this bike, rode about 36000km so far under my ownership

 

Depends on how throttle conscious u r..

 

Bike is stock, running on

Yoshimura endcan

K&N airfilter

Denso iridium plug

AP EO

AP coolant

AP grounding

Venhill brakeline

Metzeler M5

 

Mileage currently 119k km

 

Noting much done internal as its still healthy, other than my coolant pump that just fail on me months ago. Not an issue, wear&tear

 

 

 

All this depends on the condition of your bike.

Which vtec u riding bro Hairi, vtec 2 is known for it's bad fc.

 

Vtec3

 

 

Well, alott of factors will affect your Fc

 

 

Like :

Wheel bearing

Tyre pressure

Pillion

Clutch plate

Clutch spring

The way u ride/pick up /wack

EO u use (pm AP if u interested)

Grounding u use (pm AP if u interested)

Coolant u use (pm AP if u interested)

Cooling system

Spark plug u use

The way u brake

The way u use your engine braking

Your engine condition

Your electrical system

Chain & Sprocket

 

N many many more..

 

The list goes on n on

 

Pls add on if I missed out..

Ap product tried n tested my many s4 rider..

 

No prob for avid tourer like me that went up & down NSHW/ Thai once

Fc based on urban/spore riding style

 

If tour mode, 100% Vtec open, It may last me till Seremban.. If till KL depends on wat speed I cruise at

 

 

Vtec 100% open, ard >360km, depends on speed

Vtec 30-40% open, ard >400km, usually for Spore road

Yeah bro manbai..i noe wat to do..but honestly i did apek grounding all plus eo and stuff..wow bro hairi ur spec 3 power sia 400km also cn reach..like revo sia..yeah spec 2 really bad fc..honestly i did 90% of internal stuff on my bike..even planet cnt seem to figure out the prob..all ah chong told me was..engine wise no problem..and advice me on not opening vtec often..i always ride 80km-90km/h..my bike performance wise is damn awesome lah..only the fc onli..hope u guys cn help me out..one more ting i wanna ask is hw much the broquet fuel thingy..hw much is it and where cn i get it?
