hi i just got my 2b license. wondering if you all think its weird to wear a full face helmet with leather protective jacket on a phantom? because, i happen to have a brand new shoei helmet and dainese jacket from my bro. do you guys think its overkill? like, too racy? i'm 1.85 so can only ride phantom.

Regardless of what bike you ride and whatever speed too... in an accident, chances are you will smack your face on the road.. unless you ride facing backwards.

 

Wearing of a full face and jacket is a safety statement., its not a fashion statement.

 

Overkill is an understatement. Permanent damage to the facial features is a reality without a full face helmet... then you REALLY have to worry about your looks.

 

I have seen enough split chins, lost front teeth, broken jaws and facial disfigurings in my life time all happening to riders who insist on using an open face helmet quoting reasons like too hot and worried about whether other road users will laugh at them.

 

Some say that the full face is too expensive.. I guess its because their face is too cheap.

 

Sorry if I sound mean, but I have seen enough and cannot understand why some riders do not know how to use their head. Spend a few thousands on their bikes but become stingy with their own head. Does not make sense to me.

 

Flame me if you guys want to.. but only bloody fools ride with an open face helmet.

 

All it takes is for you to crash one time with an open face helmet, just once... and you will agree with what I say, .. by then... its too late and you cannot turn back time.

Actually, I got a split chin when I was a boy running and crashing. Had it sewed up

and the line still shows. I can't forget the scene when I was in the operating theatre surrounded by doctor and nurses till today.

actually i find full face and jackets a safety statement and a fashion statement - so stylo milo, 2 riders same bike, 1 with armor, 1 without, sure look at the one with ma.

 

anyw, ts, u got the armor and ff for free, just use la! wahahaz somemore is good one lei, dainese and shoei. fwa, i want also dun haf.

Forgot to add, I wear leather boots and gloves too.

Actually, I have to admit, I did intend to get a FF helmet too, but was wondering if FF on a phantom was a "overkill" as TS put it. Cause well, its a phantom!?

 

But considering all the points brought up, I think I'm headed to find a FF on my payday.

im oso saving up for at least a mesh jacket and gloves..

i got a flip up full face helmet already..

ff alone not enough..

 

but somehow i know the need for safety

i cant convince myself for the pants and boots leh..

anyone can pyscho me as well?

All I can say is "Why not?". It's not what bike you ride, it's how you treasure your face, head and body. Those who tease are simply idiots or too poor to afford and thus jealous that you have them.

You might wanna consider those removable knee guards. It's better for our climate and can be wore over the jeans. Not all pants will fit everybody legs' length even if the waist fits.

since im a cyclist , i know the importance of putting on the right gear...

dude.. get yourself a gloves la.. keep yourself warm and safe....

 

why boots.. is because it will protect you from rain and cuts on your ankle.. so remember to get a highcut boots...

 

pants ar... still cant find a reason for that also lehz.. cause amour pants or no amour, crash = also pain. =P

Combination for a very painful disaster.. and some people I know crash in their carpark... not yet reach the road even. So no need to talk about how near or how far is the distance.

 

Anyway its your skin and flesh... so go think about it.

 

Riding a bike has got enough risks... why up the ante???

it's said that most accidents happen about 10 minutes when u get on ur ride... it happen to mie...

 

currently oni havin on jeans, shoes, long sleeves t-shirt or sweater, knee-guard, gloves and FF... planning to get Chest ProTecTor osO liao... would rather destroy my FF n stuff if aniting happens, wouldn't wan a single scratch on mie... sumtymes ppl jus need to exp fall or accident from bike once then tis things REALLY get into the HeaD LiKe ME!

pls do wear a full face helmet, no matter how lousy it might be, it's still better than a normal open face helmet.

 

in my 2B days, i was riding a RXZ and wearing my full face, golves and jacket. i rem someone i know actually laughed at me, i didn't give a dam. the next time i saw him, he didn't smile much, this was because he got into an accident wearing a open face helmet and all his teeth got knocked off.

200 can get u pretty decent ones, head over to regina take a slow lookaround, look out for Rjays, and OGK, once u targeted ur helmet, ask them to take the correct helmet size and TRY FIRST!!! this is the most impt thing....once satisfied then u ask for the price, if u think its too expensive u can bargain for lesser price, but i suggest u take a meal aft finding out the price, aft filling up the stomach, charge in and bang bang bang bang bang until the price drop....hahahaa
