Members of HOGS..snobbish??

Does 1 need to be rich and famous to be a member of HOGS? Is there a pre-requisite besides being an owner of a H-D??

true enough..but i got a couple of gd pals in there.not sure if i ever wana b a part of them.just be alone i guess..but i still wana own a H-D..XR1200 sportster to be exact..

Why snobbish? You just sign up with Harley Davidson to get discounts off accessories, and partake in activities/rides. What's so snobbish and PIGS about it?

I am an old man and used to be a member of the Singapore Chapter. They do their part in society by visiting and contributing to the various charitable societies. HOGs memebre will greet all riders with a smile and thumb ups.

Don't start an issue that cause rift among riders. Stop being a member as no more on a ride. Cheerio

A friend of mine already in the group told me n he wants out. But i didn't say anything about members of HOGS being PIGS..im in no position to say such cruel and unjustified things about them or other members of bike gangs

if u talk abt roadtrip and function-i would say their community has a good way of communication make sure everyone get the info of upcoming event. definitely a big group of loyal harley supporter. for doing up the bike- if u r tallking abt the money tt they input i dont think do up a sportbike to go circuit is cheap. deep pocket - dont need deep pocket. u need a stable income and stay young tts all.

Posting up judgemental hearsays in a public forum is not exactly a good way to endear yourself to the group if you are intending to join.

Bro, Don't start your ride with a chip on your shoulder. Better to start your ride with an open mind - you don't have to be HOG if you don't want. By generalising the way you have you look like you are trying to create a rift between fellow riders.

 

I am a hog member - not rich and famous and enjoy shareing my riding passion with many HOG and non HOG riders. I also enjoy riding with and discussing bikes with many non HD riding friends.

 

Just be cool and enjoy.

i think u guys misunderstood me..like wat was mentioned earlier, it was based on a pal's comment.but anyway im sorry i misled some ppl here.im gonna get my v own H-D very soon in fact but i dun think i'll be joining HOGS anytime soon cos i dun think i can allow myself to participate in charity rides and long road trips.i cant even attend monthly committee meetings at my neighbourhood CC,let alone go into all that...but maybe i can consider after all...i shall c abt dat

Dont worry, end of the day its just HOG, its the same all around the world. And off course, anyone can be HOG, as long you pay that yearly subcription.....for that year alone, you are a member. And as for those charities stuff and event they did, at least in this society now, they bother to do something which thats a good form of helping and caring in the way.

Hey hey everyone...Wow...another HOG issue is up huh???....Well, just my 2 cents, it's all up to the individual, just like the fingers on your hand, all aren't the same in length, size and it's functions....The same goes to all riders on all bikes....My point is, there are riders need it be on a sports, japanese cruisers, scoots, harleys, whatever, who do have attitude but there are also friendly riders out there...You may meet the unfriendly ones one day and then you meet the friendly ones the next...

 

The moral of the story is, to each his own...Just be who you are and that's what matters...All in the hopes that we are all Riders in Singapore and let us all stay united as Singaporeans....Cheers to one and all....

In my dictionary HOG is defined as a Pig or Swine.

 

If any individual members of any club want to act like the animal, then it is their own choice.

 

Actually you dont need a deep pocket to make your bike look good. I have seen many bikes in Singapore or on the internet (harley or any bikes or even cars), that has some subtle changes to the "key" parts and it look amazing! But there are some that some who over do it and it looks "o biang" to me, but to the owner think it is the most beautiful machine in the world.

 

Less is more.

 

You will be suprised that those with deep pockets are some of the most humble people you will meet. The difficult ones are *usually* the newly rich or have just made it.

 

Dont loose sleep over it...just ride, doesnt matter who you ride with, it is how you ride.

P.S what was the reason u bought the XR1200?

 

the reason why i bought xr was cause im more of a city rider then a tourer, so i find that this model is the ONLY model of harley which offers a foot rest like super 4 kinda.

 

fuel consumption for everyday city riding i get 117km before the lights come out, means abt 13km/L

 

for touring i managed to get 16km/L after some calculations

 

and why harley, cause when i was small and my parents brought me to trips to america, i saw all those harley, they have a 'unity' among one another... as in they wont know one another n they strike up a conversation

 

see for urself, usually in a junction 2 harleys meet confirm atleast they'll acknowledge one another... not like ducati or agusta

Well, HOG are Ppl from all walks of life... can be salesman, lawyer, retirees....etc... but one thing in common is that they share the same passion for this luvly machine..

U can choose not to join them cos nobody can force u or be a lone rider if u prefer...And nobody will stop u from getting a Harley when u walk into the showroom as long as u got the dough.
