Hmmm...good point.

I got no one to pass the property to.

So its actually no point.....

on a serious note, I think there will be people who will be willing to pay for all your monthly mortgage instalment plus insurance in return for their name to be in your will. I know I would.

That will be ridiculous, its a small 38sqm HDB flat with a 60 years lease.

Even if it can be sold, at most its worth at max of 300k resale after minimum 3 years which is 2020

I aint the Yang Yin Saga even 10 percent.

Anyway, about that.

I think most of you will be too young to be thinking of it. And I did actually advised some friends on it.

Friend divorced mother of two teen girls. Mother sold off her property to help finance buying over the matrimonial HDB Masionette.

So now, family quarralling every day. Grandma is feeling insecure, so is suddenly demanding for her 180k back.

My advise. Go ballot for an elderly studio for the Grandma, and she herself to ballot for a 3 room flat. preferably in the same block, in Bt Batok where its cheap. That should give her at least a year or 3 years breather as the goals are set.

Once property arrives, to sell off their Masionette, paid for grandma's new flat, and set aside the remaining sums for necessary funds. She can start a fresh loan for her property. So grandma will have a place fully paid for like before, but a bit smaller, which also means less chores.

She also get to separate from the quarrelsome grandma, but still nearby in emergencies, as well as can set the rules against where cousins, uncles and so on, are trying to move in with her and the girls in their big house.

Told her to be very very discipline, and the funds really have to go for paying the girls studies and maybe a holiday once in a while. She wont have to struggle with her low salary, pay for wear and tear of her current huge home, and hopefully is prepared for when we are getting old and well sick.

Her other option, is to refinance her current property for the cash to return to grandma.

Which will leave Grandma with no where to go. So to make it worthwhile. Only when grandma's place comes, refinance, give grandma the owed amount, and the rest as her spending money.

But that ties her down to her breaking down even though worth a lot masionette....and the difficulty of caring for the place, with limited funds. As well as the headache of family members eyeing her place for free stay.

Note: Grandma probably can't buy a 3 room resale with only 180k cash. And she can't get a loan at her age. So plan prudently, and it only cost $10 for an online ballot. If at the end of the day, willing to compromise and live peacefully. Its only $10 lost.

Because a year ago, they only allowed Singles above 35 to buy only 2 Rooms BTO in non matured estate.

Even now, its still the same, Singles without a family nucleus, have to be 35 years old, and can only buy 2 rooms BTO. Except they now offer some choices, example, can buy 30 year leases up to 99 year lease.

y don't u form a family nucleus?

Lets see.

Daddy has his own family nucleus.

Mummy has her elderly studio apartment already.

Siblings has their private properties or getting their private properties.

The men I am interested in, are either married, gay or dead.

So how to form a family nucleus?

I got a friend who didn't take the home protection scheme or something. One day, he just suddenly passed away in his home after a stroke. Around 40 years old then.

Hdb loan wasn't complete. So wife now have to bear up the cost of paying the loan and raising up the kids.

Moral is: get some hps in case (touch wood) pass away. At least u know when you're gone, the burden won't be pass on.

Thats really unfortunate.hope his surviving family can move on and do well.

The oddest thing happened.

They loaned me! After telling me cannot lah.....no lah.....somehow, their underwriters loaned me after they submitted to get me a rejection letter.

Really taken aback for all of us.

And it was 20k above what I asked for...really really scratching my head as to how it happened.....good thing I have not gone to the MP to moan and grumble. I hate begging.

The interest is variable, but it was still lower than the CPF or HDB loan amount. Although it probably will go up some way or another. But I can use my CPF to pay off monthly. So it eventually will still be okay.

Well, there you go....when you least expect them to reject, they gave you the loan.

actually banking business is not great lately so if you are a low risk debtor with a decent job and a loan to speculative income which is not too high, they would lend you.

glad to hear that it did work out ok after all.

cheers
