The profile of the driver is disturbing enough. But you can simply call this guy for a quote (Michael Lee) 96892918. He came to my rescue when the broker I sourced played out on me.

Haha! Joking! But 19 year old p-plate insurance is way too expensive unless you are very rich or got daddy to pay for you or put the car under daddy's name. You got to love daddy. :)

LoL do make sure you're insured even if your insurance is cheap and has your dad's name on it. ;) it might just insure your dad and not you as young and inexperienced driver.

all i know is if you are below the age of 23 or 21, the AIG vehicle insurance will auto want you to pay 3K first plus above the premium.. so prolly 4 to 5 k?

thats what i read on the booklet for new cars issue lor, but i duno about used cars.

There is no replacement for displacement, except for Ah Seng

ok from what i know so far.

For Motorbikes. if you ride a motorbike that is not insured under your name (owner/subrider) and get caught. You can get your license revoked by Teepee.

For Cars. is it the same rules? so even if my dad gets the insurance under his name. must he put my name as a sub-driver in order for me to drive?

im sorry if i dont make sense. hope you understand what im trying to ask.

same under ur pups name, by right u need to input ur name too as another user. Cons: insurance still will be high.

By left: register under pups but didn't have ur name, yes u can drive too but if accident happen then good luck, insurance might not pay if u were the person involved. Of coz the insurance is much much cheaper.

i am not sure abt 21yo terms in insurance but 2 years experience on road will kill off some amount on the documents.

and fyi honda badge always have a higher preimum, even as a NA vehicle, some of them pay same as a turbo car.

car is different, anyone can drive as long as it has insurance covering the reg owner.

but if a driver below a certain age drives and gets into an accident, the coverage is different and the excess is a lot higher.

Hi all,

I'm thinking of driving up to Malaysia this holiday, but I have heard of cases where sg car were stolen in Malaysia. So, I'm abit worried.

Coz mine is a less than one year old car and of course still under bank installment.

I'm sure there are many people here who have experiences in driving up to Malaysia, can anyone tell me is it safe and how to prevent car from getting stolen?

Is Malacca, KL and Genting Highland safe?

Can anyone tell me if my car is stolen in Malaysia, how would insurance pay?

I'm having AIG insurance.

Thanks alot for commenting. :)

just renew my insurance again, nothing special as expected preimum will go up and paid a extra $150 compared to last year (from income). But to my damn freaking surprise, i notice the renewal form actually added something "new" which goes like : Unamed driver 1, unamed driver 2.

Ok so i went down to one of the branch to check it out the details as i need to place my wife name in the unamed driver section.

Me: err, wats the unamed driver stuff about?

Admin: oh, is a new rule as of feb 2009 you will need to nominate the alternative driver name in the policy or else you will need to pay higher excess during in a case of claim.

Me: err ok, i gave the admin my wife details

Admin: Ah sir, ur wife below 27! according to the rule if the driver is 27 or above then the preimum will not chg with a excess of $500, if 26 and below then u need a NEW QUOTATION! if u wan it to remain unamed then the excess is $2500!

Me: huh~ "my heart was cursing this new rule or shld i say a new scam that makes it officially". Out of anger i ask the admin a stupid question: Lets say the alternative driver has 7 years experience but under 27 without any claim before, the preimum will still go further up? if the person is over 27 but has only has 1 year experience with multiple claim before, but ur company allows the preimum remain unchg?

Admin: quiet with a black face.

This really proof how stupid is one of our country most biggest motor insurance rule could be..... idiots that implement new rules without thinking and seeing far. Lydat they only need primary school students to be their directors can le mah, need scholars for wat? barely make difference

thats the point, our so called unique system in sinkapore. They just plainly place everyone that's below 27 as the higher risk group and above 27 as the lesser. Dumb logic.

If i had the choice to select from other insurance, i will be more than happy to despite only 3 companies can accept my make/model with the other 2 company preimums over 5k.

Honda ESI, VTI, SIR those tiong chia, you may want to think thrice or over and over again.

I have 50% NCD, 26yo, CL3 in 2002 and the avg quotes for me for TPFT (3rd Party Fire Theft) is $1.2k - $1.5k, I went with TPO (3rd party only) and still paid about $800+. I didn't even dare think about comprehensive.

Furthermore, a lot of companies don't insure cars more than 13 years.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.
