Eh ?!.... is currently, in Singapore, the only model available is the SRLagenda ? not the 110cc Version ? can people from Singapore buy a motorcycle in Malaysia and register them in Singapore ?....would that be expensive ?

Probably can try asking from bike shop. It's possible, but will probably cost more than Sparkz.

:cheeky:

Hi everyone.... actually, I am not singaporeans, but I do own a Yamaha Lagenda 110 (as they called it here in Malaysia).

This bike Rocks.!! I've been using it for a couple of month and find it almost 110% better then any other cub I evere ride here. compared to Honda Ex5, Wave 100, Wave S 110, Modenas Kriss 100 / 110, Kristar etc...etc....

I am interested to share some tips for maintaining the good quality and performance of this bike. since I am a long distance rider. (apprex. 200Km/day).

I use TOTAL Special 4T added with STP Engine Oil Additive. this makes the engine running super smooth for long distance and for a long period. up to 4000Km. before oil change.

For Petrol, I use Petronas Primax with an STP Octane Booster Additive (100ml) on every Full Tank. Plus 50ml of STP Complete Petrol System Treatment for Once every 4000km.

one more weird thing I discover is that every time I wash my bikes engine, It will performs much better than when its dusty. so... keep your engine clean all the time to make sure you have the top performance.

until todate 16,000km, I have never change my air Filter since it is still quite clean, but I plan to change the air filter systems to an aftermarket K&N type filter for better and cleaner air flow. (lighter and smaller too)...

my bike can reach 120km/h mark easily on flat road. and top speed at 155Km/h on flat road, but still depends on the winds. no winds = more speed. This morning I tailgate (drafting) a tourist bus at 140Km/h with some more space on my throttle. I love this bike so much. you know even Suzuki's Smash 110 can't do that without modifications.

previously, I also experience the backfire everytime I release the throttle on high speed. but now the problems have gone since I change the standard NGK Wiresets and Spark Plugs and use SplitFire Wiresets and 'V' Spark Plugs. and it rocks even more..... but you'll have to make sure that your carburetor is always clean and the air intake is clean too...

I hope that I have contributed to a better ride for everybody (through sharing my experience.).... :) Happy Riding

soon i tink ur bike needs to overhaul

Posted

well, actually I do think so.... and in fact, I have brought the bike to Yamaha for inspection and they say my bike is in perfect condition. no need to overhaul, and for the visit I only change the engine oil and the sprocket & chainset.... this bike is tough for long distance. really really....

I also have a record of 280KM non-stop at average speed of 110km/h. and in only around 2 hours... but this is the 110cc machine... I have no idea about the 102cc machine... they look more like the same outside huh ?....

Engine looks the same, other exterior stuffs slight difference.

My comment for the 102cc version - very absuable. Everytime lut for speed, still no problem. But one thing, the top speed very low, max 110km/h.

greetings.

Currently, I'm using the RKM Oversized 15-38. very good acceleration and top speed. It actually Cost around RM 55.00 if I'm not mistaken. but I got lucky that day, the shop mistakenly note the price to RM 35... hehehe so I got it cheap. I usually buy spare parts at Jalan Sentul KL. actually the cheapest and broadest selection of stuff you can find anywhere around. virtually anything.... do note here that I run 140km/j with very minimal wind restriction. if you got bad luck and the wind blows against you. you will only reach top speed of 110 and such.....

and for the engine oil, I use the TOTAL Special ++ the STP Engine Oil Additive. Now I have run more than 3000Km, and the engine response is still very good.

and actually, Yamaha Owners can come to the Yamaha Service Centre at Sungai Buluh, Selangor for Service, Check-ups, Genuine Spare Parts, Accessories, Apparels and more stuffs that you won't have to worry about counterfeit and high price. they are reasonably priced. I don't know, but I think they sure serve all yamaha's no matter where they come from. but it's a way long distance for a good and assured service dude... I will visit the center again soon to find out about Street Legal Modifications for my Lagenda. .... hehehee :p.... or maybe the mechanic  will do his "personal" power mods for me.... ahaks....

can we go together?

Sure do.... but when are you coming to KL ? just drop me a message then.

by the way, last night, I did a small mod myself on the air intake, I change the air filter with a modified Air Conditioner Air Filter. It still filters dirt, but it is not as restrictive as the original. but I think I need to adjust the air intake on the carburetor. the bike is easier to start now. and I cut the spark plug cable so it is shorter (since I use the SplitFire cable, it is quite long). and whatever else I'm doing to the bike, today it feels very different. and more responsive.... maybe coz of the air intake adjustment.... (I like the sound tho..) sheesshh...sheeshh.... :p

Phatish : I think the better option if you change to 15-35 or 15-34. you will lose some pick-ups, but you will have better top speed. F.Y.I : the standard settings 15-36 is the most balanced between pickups and top speed. and a perfect low-end - mid end speed cruise. :p cheers...

gunshead : I always wish I could buy the Lagenda SE (Sports Edition)'s Gas Shocks. Do You Know that Yamaha have bought the best Motorcycle suspension manufacturer from Sweden (OHLINS) ? If you can see the pictures attached....Yes, That is Lagenda Race Concept, and use an OHLINS suspension. it looks really cool, but I don't know where we can find that suspension. maybe on the next visit to Sungai Buluh, I will ask them directly..... :p
