Met CKC at Tampines ave 7 , esso then proceed to tampines mart for kiew tiau goreng. Later, go to bike and discuss / share knowledge on spark z

 

SPARK X . ckc has the new version print outs . it is super beautiful except the head light.

I went to ah boy, he selling mikuku - $45 and GPR -$40

 

he advise me not to use mikuku coz its high , will wobble behind

 

While GPR was ok but i hate the yellow color

 

FYI,

ah boy informed all these come from china. And the gas , bieve it or not its dummy and malfunction. Just to show off. He contrast that ohlins original gas suspension selling $1000, super 4 original absorber is $400.

He said use common sense.

 

How good a $40 product verses $400.

 

Furthermore it comes from china and the gas link to the spring is welded in a way like there no flow.

Your bike sound system dem good ....super smooth , the throttle proves them.

 

I bought road tax cover - $1 , but the look and quality, yours better. Anyhow $1 has rubber protector.

 

I went home and search for the manual yamaha , there is no valve clearance specification. They never write the mm to be used by gauge.

 

I believe its inside Mechanic / service manual. Normally these information on technical data are not printed in owners manual.

 

those interested in getting new yamaha , just wait for this arrival

oh sori about the wrong info on d rear suspension but so far seen a lot of bikers using the mikuku ones not bad I suppose. As for the gas thing they sure had me fool haha

CKC can help you to resolve your 3 questions above.

 

As I per discussion with CKC the rear light may not fit firmly , you may need to alter certain area.

 

While the dashboard , you can change it since the screw part are the same.

Was in JB yesterday

 

Saw new batch of Suzuki Shogun arrived. 125cc . Twin headlight. Selling RM4600 on the road.

Electric starter. Exhaust muffler is chrome and like super 4 big bike muffler. The sound was super good. From far it looks like honda wave, it also has underseat compartment. The fairing is super nice with a lot of fins and holes. This bike i did test drive, pick up dem powerful. And there is no vibration. I realize the cowling /fairing has big gap so there is no vibration. The fuel tank is big. The valve system is different.

 

 

OK this is my report on yamaha spark z servicing.

 

Changed DOT 4. Changed black oil - semi synthtic.

My foreman adjusted the timing. But he does not want to do the valve clearance. He admit the knocking and pinging sound. But he also does not want to service the carburator. He said he will fully re tune the fuel /air mixing lean.

 

He succeeded. My bike is better in starting early morning and riding from 1st gear to 2nd gear. BUT the knocking and pinginig is terrible after 85km/h.

 

Now the most sad part

he changed my suspension to Mikuku. he only has yellow and tried calling agents for silver. But no one has.

 

The best part in JB they have yamaha lagenda /spark z mikuku gas suspension. You still can use the absorber without removing the fully covered chain box. It fits well. Mikuku design for cup kia.

 

However fixing takes long time since the givi rack box steel bracket hole into the absorber hole blocks the nut to go in and tightening. But he managed by reversing the absorber.

 

Now I am crying because After I came to singapore I heard a sound .....ppppssssssshhhhhh.. at SLE.

 

Then at home , I saw the left hand side absorber gas nut missing.

 

Dem it !!! I think some gas leaked out.. CEhhhhhhhhhh

 

The gas has two nuts - top and bottom.

 

Better go and tighten it.

sad to hear about the suspension will tighten it thanks, but the valve clearence hav to solve it otherwise spoil other connect parts

yoooohooo!!.... it's been very...very...very long tiome I hadn't screw the board... hahahahaa....

 

anyway, how are you guys doing ? I can see someone in bad luck. hey gunshead... I feel very pity for you.... but anyway, your bad experience actually teach us here to carefully select a product and put quality first. I've seen a lot of those gas absorbers brand in the market. but they doesn't look confident and some of my friend who uses them is not recommending the products. I think I'll look for the Ohlins if I need one.

 

and about the spark-X, I've seen it, but it doesn't seem to interest me anywhere. I don't like the meter panel (crowded), I don't like the headlamp and tail lamp (too ShowOff), I don't like the exhaust (plain old time) and I don't like the bike in total (no performance improvements).... doh! I wish they upgraded the exhaust and the engine.... other parts are just nice like what we already had.... negative marks for the X'es.

 

 

to : Pannerch :- CKC is right. all problems will be solved after you change to Splitfire spark plugs and adjusts the carburetor. but make sure you know what you're doing to the carburetor or else you're just screwing it up....

 

wildboar : I am also interested with the Hazard Light idea and actually, I already tried to install one myself. but it didn't work and after referring to my mechanic, he said that Hazard Lights may EAT your BATTERY ALIVE....!!! Gaaa!!

well, he's right. I am forced to change my battery after my attempts... hahahaha.. the battery is all drained out and useless after I tried to connect the wires to the Hazard switch. anyhow, there are still ways to install them. only that you'll need to also install additional hardwares that I yet to find out, so that it'll control the amount of power out of the battery. maybe another signal relay unit ??? lets find out....

 

recently, I changed my 4T oil to a more expensive type. : TOTAL GRAND PRIX SAE 10/50W. Priced at RM 30.00. it feels very light and smoother gear/clutch operation.... I fully recommend it to everyone.

OK My report

 

 

yesterday went to JB to meet my mechanic

 

showed him why the screw / nut cover the gas shcok fled

 

he showed me this is ok. it does not harm the gas. why? cause it works excatly like the tyre. our tyre where the nut we put air has a pin. it looks same like the gas pin. if u press using fingernail then the pressure leaks otherwise it happnes nothing.

 

oh dear. luckily my money was not wasted. then he fixed me a new pair of nut. FREE

 

then he open the two big nuts for upper and lower block and side gear box two screws. he then adjuested the valve clearance since my bike got knocking/pinging after 80km/h. very noisy.

 

he took 20 minutes. then we tested. GOOD.

 

ckc, he said no need gauge since there is no shim and shim under bucket .

 

so the way it works are differ. Even in factory they fix using torque nM to tighten valve.

 

FREE also .

 

Then checked battery water level.

 

 

I left the place happily. all FOC.

 

I rushed back home cause gonna rain. I went to cobbler and GIANT shopping

then i rushed home and forget to wash the bike

 

so this week hinking of going for wash bike and lunch in JB then shopping in Pelangi
