Its official in yamaha usa website.. 2011 r1 is the same as 09-10.. only colour change..

if white smoke coming out from your exhaust after your engine is hot then means that u will need an overhaul. U wont be able to know if your block is jialat or not unless u dismantle your engine then u will be able to see.

 

after u off your engine when u warm up and u start again, does the crank sounds weak? when is also the last time u change your spark plugs?

 

Thats bad news. I got to know about re-sleeve-ing the cylinders. but a shop here in sg quoted me $400 per cylinder. i want to know if you guys got any lobang for cheaper prices. I estimate the whole overhaul to be in the range of 3k.

well u can pm me for shop recommendation.

 

for the weak crank sound, it could be 1 of the reasons that your bike is difficult to restart again after u warm up to 50 degrees and off it.

 

OR

 

u could be using hot plugs that makes starting difficult when your engine is warmed up. thats why i ask u about the spark plug thing or maybe its that your spark plugs are worn out and need to change.

Went to my bike shop today to charge my batt.. So far this is my 3rd batt after riding for 1 n half years, 2nd was $120 yuasa, 3rd is $70 shinko.. The 3rd batt couldn last for 3 month and its dying.. Mechanic checked and found out that its partially weak.. so he charged n later fixed on da bike.. surprisingly when reved, the device(to check batt voltage) went up slightly but not up to requirements.. Was 6pm and the shop closing.. left the bike there, rectifying tmorrow. What u guys think? Batt condemned? Rectifier spoilt or magneto? hopefully its jus the batt.. All 2nd n 3rd bat bought from Lim Ah Boy..

erm.. imo, i feel tat the original gel batt is the best.. sometimes it the price u pay determine wat kind of goods u receive.. pay a bit more and last a bit long instead of changing.. u might end up saving paying on mechanic fees..

S$750 if the news are accurate ..... its equal to installing a non-street legal pipe thats what i heard .... but there are also people who said that its only S$70

SO far, brought the bike back with new original batt cost $175.. Rectifier checked ok.. gonna ride a few weeks n c the results.. If still fail, then shb the electical which is the magneto.. hopefully not..

 

With new batt n charged.. started the bike with voltage of 13.9+.... revved abit n close throttle.. went up to 14.1..
