new tourer in town...........suzuki gsx1250

Suzuki’s 2010 sportbike lineup gets a new member – the GSX1250FA. The new addition will sell in Europe and compared to the Bandit 1250, it only has an extra full fairing to brag about. Everything else, the engine and tranny as well as the chassis are all shared with the Bandit 1250S, while the fairing didn’t required much work or imagination either as it was simply inspired from now this bike’s smaller brother, the GSX650F.

The fact is that Suzuki plans to sell the all-new GSX1250FA as a cheap (price is yet to be announced though) and versatile sport-touring motorcycle. For that reason, they offer genuine accessories such as windshield, top case and side cases among others.

Colors available for the 2010 model year are Candy Indy Blue, Metallic Oort Gray and Pearl Nebular Black.

Looks like a challenger for the FJR and the new Honda VFR. Must say, the new VFR looks space ages ahead.

I ride because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.

It is not a question of living dangerously. That formula is too arrogant, too presumptous. It's not the danger I love. I know what I love. It is life itself.

Comparing the Bandit to the VFR or FJR is sacriledge!! The VFR is Honda's testbed for new technology, and the FJR is no budget bike either.

The Bandit, on the other hand, is using a dunno-how-many-generations-old oil cooled motor and generally low-tech stuff.

It is a cheap alternative, but never a challenger.

Its a Bandit with full fairings. The Bandit has been around for years already.

Theres a 650cc version too, looks exactly the same.

Its like wrapping up a Super4 CB1300 in full fairings then comparing it to the STX. Different league! Cannot compare with Blackbird and VFR, for a start it costs alot less than those two bikes, even with full luggage options.

Suzuki has presented the 2009 GSX650F, a sporty road bike destined to those who turn to motorcycling as a result of increasing gas prices and not only. Economical and practical, the bike relies on the Bandit 650 engine and shares most features with the previous model year.

Yet another do-it-all sportbike and an alternative to the GSX650F is Yamaha’s 2009 YZF-R6S. This is also a 2009 model year and has better performance coming from that original 600cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder, DOHC with 16 valves engine. It will also go around the corners more aggressively, but remember that this is practically a 2002 Yamaha R6 and as long as I can remember, that is a super sport motorcycle. The riding position won’t be as comfy as on the Suzuki and Kawi and it is priced at $8,690.

apparently UK's famous MCN loves the 650 version very very much for its bang for buck

they position it as a easy to ride big bike

won their best sport tourer for 2008

but i actually like the ER-6F's looks and sound :p also the XJ6 fairing version is sweet too.

I'd choose the Bandit over this, purely because it looks too much like a GSXR! Sure get targeted by police.

Full fairing Bandit 650F is slightly cheaper too. Looks more 'toury' and understated, therefore wouldn't look too dorky with boxes.
