I have a backrest installed on mine. Use a T-bag if I have more stuff to carry.

hi st rider,

any of you guys out there has actually on purpose activate @ abs.i hear its good for @ abs system.cheers.

abs can have advantage or disadvantage. I experience once with heavy weight piilion due to emergency braking @ 70km/h where a moron driver sees me coming n still dash out from the alley lane at St theresa Church where i alrdy rch the traffic light at green!!! i short n cursed his 18 generations!!!

abs does it work for nt jamming and wheel locked preventing me frm skidding into collision with the car that we both stopped with my left knee few cm away frm the car brake light coz he past right infront of me from left to right

!!!!

bt abs braking in-order nt letting the wheel lock is nt instantanous effect. the reaction is slower. so u will need a longer braking distance. so ur judgement n reaction to traffic condition is very very important esp our bike is heavy the braking distance is longer. if i have reacted seconds slower...guess I might nt be telling tis story now.

bt at speed below 15-20km/h, the wheel will still lock if u jammed brakes.

hi,

Anyone experiencing intermittent overvoltage? Could it be overheating of rectifier? As when i touch the metal on the footrest, left side (where rectifier mounted) is much hotter than right side. Anyone has this experience before? I'm thinking of changing the rectifier as the connector also sort of melted & jammed, my mech got it unplugged for me. Thanks. It's a 95 US model.

kn2i,

its common plm for pre 96' models, most u could do is bring along a spare rectifier whenever if u r leaving for ride outside Sgp.

Hi guys, jus bought a 96 US model.....any meetup coming along soon?....hope to learn more about this bike from you guys especially on the maintenance and repairs needed on my bike.....on deceleration, there's this popping / farting sound quite prominent and the handling / cornering ability quite weird so not sure if front and rear shock are working / adjusted properly or not

popping/farting sound during deceleration COULD be cause by carb not tune and balanced properly.

Handling/cornering ability COULD be cause by steering cone worn out OR fork oil seal leaking.

But then again, better to confirm with the old timers here

What say u

correct oredi bro...

additional...check ur spark-plug...

the "poping" sound, cause by un-equal carb tuning...so, go ahead to get ur carb serviced n tuned... :cheeky:

hi bro,

for the meeting up u will get ur invitation very soon.

as per the plm u wrote, its a very common sounding for ALL US models to have poppin or farting sound each time u rev up & decelerate at stationary position. BUT if u could hear it again while riding on engine braking or before coming to a stop, very high chance r the pair of diaphragm partially cracked/torn due to ageing.

to solve it, either u replace it in pair OR by simply stud-block the 4 EVAP outlet tubes from outside the engine block(below spark plug) linking to it.

the pair of diaphragm is inside each of the 2 housing mounted underneath(linking to the chrome tube to the engine block outside) the carburettor just beside the radiator hose. to now not sure if anyone got it replace, try check with Honda stockist if they come in seperate diaphragm or in a whole unit with housing.

Do you mean the headlight totally OFF then ON again when u released the start button? Something not right with your sentences.. I do not experience headlight off when start but the light may be slightly dimmer when cranking the bike.

Try to saw what happen with you switch off your bike, the highlight will get dimmer and off. As you pressing the start button it go dimmer and not off coz the time u need to start the bike does not allow you to see the headlight is off unless you press and start button and hold it then you will see the headlight is off.
