gantries and barriers problem

i ride a piaggio 125 skipper, and i have alot of problems at gantries all ard sg. at changi airport T1, i put the cashcard in my IU, i can go in, no prob(cuz my friend told me motorbikes must keep right)....but when i go out. they flash my IU number den say $1.70 deducted. but gantry nv open. then i press intercom but no ans, in the end cuz got cars behind, i slighted my bike and "limbo-ed" out of there. pissed off...but i tot i was a fluke.

 

but then another time at JP, they say "bikes here" where we don't go through the gantry, just by pass.....so IU not scan....but then i couldn't find the motorbike exit so i figured it should be the same as the cars exit. so i go to the gantry...SAME TING, he scan my IU, $0.00 deducted...but gantry nv open...zzzz...why huh?

 

anyone got any tips/advice. cuz this prob is starting to get on my nerves, have been parking at multi-cp...then walk over to shopping centres and stuff...but just tinking if i have to go vivo or changi again how?

Can't say that I have experienced the same problem. Usually I only go and park in those MSCP that have free parking for bikes such as Plaza Singapura. The barriers are designed for bikers to leave without needing the gantry to be opened.

 

 

For those you mentioned, perhaps you would want to write in to the management to explain your frustration?

i usually go for the "insert cashcard into" kind, at both bugis junction & far east plaza. they both have such function.

 

if not it will be coupon parking or plaza sing free parking. Any idea where else offer free parking for bikes?

were the amounts shown as deducted on the gantry display really deducted from yr cashcard?

juz wondering if it's a compatibility issue with new ERP units using ez-link card versus old carpark ERP readers that can only accomodate old ERP units using cashcard.

regarding the car park at jurong point, entry is through the side of the barrier thus our IU is not being scan. upon exiting, need to put the cash card into the machine then the barrier will open. no need to scan IU when exiting

TBH I have parked at vivo and changi (airport?) many times now without problems with the IU. Have tried 3 bikes both with new and old IU, no issue. Likely it's your IU that's defective.

Same as me on my slim version IU. Even ERP gantry can't detect it. Go to LTA checked by the technician there indicate that nothing wrong with the IU. There was once gantry can't open (at pasir ris s11 there and market at serangoon central) until now im scared to go any parking place that has an IU gantry. HEHEHEHE.....

i had that problem too so i replaced my iu unit from the left to the right side so that its nearest to the scanning

Sometimes my IU also haywire. haha. Have to tahan abit, when times come den change the slim ones.

ha...maybe TS would like to check the free parking guide in Sg. I think is available even in Wiki, juz google "free parking for bikes". Lol... then no worries about gantries le.

any one use the black leather cover that cover the IU? maybe that has an effect? coz im using n i encounter the same thing

not having iu is the best.

At first i scared might face difficulties,

but after a year plus, i say no problem at all.

Go for check if its an old IU.. for new IUs.. may be a compatibility issue with the gantry.. If you're really having problems while being stucked at the gantry..continue to press the intercom..someone definitely will attend to you...have had my fair share as well..

Go vicom to check ur IU & ur cashcard. Tell them ur story, they will advise u what to do.

I know some biker riding RXK/S installed normal IU that required 12V. And some biker those with kick start that dont require battery to start their bike, did not change the battery at all.

IU is working, but the signal is not strong enough.
