Cool cooling off day...

Where is everyone ? Cooling off for tomorrow ???

Me on reservist.... Hahaha!!

Thursday sent bike for service, fix up the discs and rectifiy my bike erratic sudden engine cut off / diff to start electrical fault. Very happy with the thorough job done by the shop recommended by @joekia. Although they took hell of a long time (almost 7hrs). Now my bike is revving more freely, clutch is smoother, gear shifting is like butter and the brakes are awesome! Best is the electrical wiring finally rectified and hopefully the bike will be obedient henceforth.

Now it's time for some modding!! Hahaha!! Any suggestions?

Rather 'free' during the break in between reservist duties and went Ah Boy's. Paid for a pair of RJays saddlebag for $120. But waited an hr they couldn't find new stock in the warehouse. Actually when I was waiting I was wondering if it was a good idea to get this canvas saddle. Although I'm not worried about rain, the thought of possible theft or vandalism did bothered me somewhat. Blessing in disguise that I ultimately didn't get this? It's expendable to fit in a helmet. Stock will only arrive 1-2 weeks and Ah Boy refunded me & offer a reduction of $20 if i return to get. hmmm.....

Hi bro ,

Currently I'm using e said pads for my bike(front n back) . E front ones will squeak during braking . E rear ones works well so far on e new flower disc brakes . It's rather costly for e sintered ones I'm using . Can't recall e price but got it from auto-cycle.

Regards,

Mac

I just went to HKL 2weeks ago to replace my rear pads. $35. Good friend : Gold Fren

Paikia, your bike had that cut off problem, was it the TPS? because mine still suffers from the cutting off issue...even after Hong Leong verified that they had replaced the TPS for my bike already... btw can pm me the damage for all the electrical stuff you did at joe's workshop, dun mind thx :)

better to get hardcase, since you already have the top trax, might as well complete the set:P:P

that way, dun have to worry about the theft issue, park yr tdm overnight, you also will not get worried ppl touch yr things bcoz all locked up whereas compared to saddle zips... always worried if ppl are fishing the inside of yr saddles.

Victor, what's your symptoms? Mine was the ignition key contact point. For bikes with age like ours, wear & tear are the likely cause of most problems.

The side panniers from Trax are 37L and not to my liking. Previously was riding with H&B 40L and kept hitting other cars while zipping in between. The RJays saddles come with locks on the zippers. But of course what thieves need is just a penknife. I like the flexibility of canvas saddles as they can be flattened when not required, & capable of holding a helmet (each) with the expansion zip. And of course at $120, it's even cheaper than the Givi sideboxes. Nonetheless, the RJays design is somewhat 'boring' if I were to compare with other saddles like Komine.

Glenn... @joekia intro one. I think it's called Combine Motors? Sin Ming Autocare 2nd floor corner shop near to lift beside the car audio shop. The one who rectified the electrical for me was Ah Keong. Bespectacled with reclining hairline chap. There's another 2 mechanics and I was told unless last resort, avoid the plump old man at all costs. Hahahahaa!!!!

Actually I was told not to tell ppl he rectified this for me as the work involved is ridiculously tedious. But I think my botak head and innocent look touched him and he did a diagnostic for me & checked my electrics after I told him my symptoms and that's how he managed to narrow down to the ignition, which was also what @kmax suspected. There isn't anything changed, and just a case of loose contact point for my case which of course might not be the case for others. I'll pm u the cost but depending on what's ur bike's issue, a different cost/charge might be incurred.

Anyway.... There's a couple of Bimotas there!! Never thought I would see one again.

If u saw Kmax's post couple weeks ago, some common problems of erratic engine cease can be caused by couple possible reasons like TPS failure, ignition cable loose, kill switch malfunction, and for my case is thought to be the ignition key contact points. These other than the TPS are mainly wear and tear. Of course there are other reasons like magneto coil failure, weak battery, starter failure, alternator failure, or even as simple as foul spark plugs. Cost is subjective for the type of work required to diagnose and identify the fault. For my case as I have quite a few obvious symptoms, we were able to isolate & identify the fault (even so it was after an hour or 2).

Anyway.... I'm now monitoring my bike. My previous encounters of engine mati are after hitting bumps at high speed, aggressive downshifting (6 to 3) etc which I didn't have the chance to do again after the visit to workshop. But one thing obviously improved is the starting... Bike starts like a gem and no more multiple cranking/turning on & off the ignition again.

3M reflective sticker...

http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp350/glennkoh/TDM900/T1wvXXXfFBSEyr9_zb_095338jpg_310x310.jpg

Hi guys, i just got a quote from lenny the boss at JUZZWHEELZ.

He says the design is easy to copy and he is able to produce it easily in 3M reflective. First sticker made will be $8.00 because he needs to do the template.....subsequent pieces will be $5.00. All price include application.

hope this helps.
