from my research, dez 2 shell size, the shape is a little round at the top, 1.6kg, pass ece 22.05, ACU gold (racing standard), 3/5 stars for newest SHARP rating.

but what these tests cant reveal, and what i cant get from the web, are things like:

1) wind noise?

2) fogging?

3) whether the visor stay closed?

4) wind cutting ability? (so head wun feel ike getting blown away)

5) scratch proof visor?

6) scratch proof paint?

7) can wear spectacles with it?

8) other nitty gritty details i left out?

views appreciated.

it retails at $150, dunno if the trade in used helmet promo still on anot... it will slash $50 off so you are only paying $100 for a HJC FF helmet which is an great deal...

reviews about the helmet i not sure as i never own one, however, im using their higher-end model FG-15, bought it for $260 last sept. great helmet overall.

i say it's as good as shoei's mid-range models... at a much affordable price. :thumb:

you can try to search for reviews at http://www.webbikeworld.com.

1) wind noise? not bad, unless strong winds..but my previous ogk cushion was more snug=better insulation

2) fogging? none yet

3) whether the visor stay closed? new ones stay closed..under the blast of the wind..more like cant stay open haha

4) wind cutting ability? (so head wun feel ike getting blown away) not very good..sometimes wind will shove my head+helmet around

5) scratch proof visor? er....100 bucks only. personal opinion is no visor is scratch-proof. at most slightly scratch resistant, also depends on how well maintained

6) scratch proof paint? which paint is scratch proof? o_O

7) can wear spectacles with it? subjective, try it on at MW to see how it fits

8) other nitty gritty details i left out? its a really cheap ff alr..imo its a good deal, quite decent quality liao

Got one before the CNY at MW.

Have yet to fully use it but found it quite ok for its price.

Traded in a banged-up open face helmet and got it at $100.

Its much lighter than my Rjays Striker but its not Snell-certified, I believe, unlike the Striker.

Thinking of getting another one because of its price, trading in my Striker which is really falling apart soon.

im hoping it'll be lesser of a head swinger as compared to my current fu, weighing in at 1.7kg, since cl-st is 1.6kg oni.

alrite!

went down motoworld today, got a HJC CL-ST for my gal, looks really upz, price very upz ($100 oni, come on, compared to the other brands..), quality very upz, service very upz. fitted with the various sizes, luckily got her head size and shape.

for me: too bad, M(58) too small, L(60) too big. :faint:

me: got 59?

saleslady: sorry, only even numbers..

me: :(

such a nice helmet... but cannot fit... :(

neh mind, im happy with my zeus flip up!

HJC has 2 shell sizes, small(XS - M) and large(L - XXL). interesting thing is that my Zeus has a smaller shell size than the HJC small shell size. heez..

I don't use nose guard, and my HJC visor will fog up whenever bike stop moving and lid closed, but will be gone if lid open slightly. Currently still using my AC-11. It over 3 years old btw.

Dun bother about fogging. Only become a nusience when raining days where lid is always shut.

Having just destroyed my old HJC fullface(can't remember what model), I got one of these from motoworld's recent sale to use as a daily use helmet. This is my opinion of the helmet so far after 3 weeks of use.

1) In comparison to my other helmets, which are a AGV GP-pro and a Shoei X11, wind noise is substantial. However, at 1/6 the price of the X11 and 1/10 the price of the GP-Pro, I cannot complain. It is still worlds better than an open face.

2) There is a provided breath guard, but as Singapore is hardly a cold country, this is rarely a problem. I have been through 4 rain rides with the helmet so far, and the anti-fogging ability seems to be better than my old HJC fullface. Though i don't know how it will perform in cold weather should you take it overseas to tour.

3) So far, I'm glad I have not experienced a helmet so lousy that the visor cannot stay closed while riding. If your helmet does this, I think in all honesty that you should throw it away. I have serious doubts about the build quality. The visor for the CL-ST has 4 adjustment levels, fully open, partially closed, almost closed and closed. Unlike my AGV and Shoei, the almost closed does not work at any speed above 60kph, and will be forced shut by the wind. Again for $100, I am happy to have open and closed. That's all I need.

4) The "wind cutting" ability is not excellent, but it is substantially better than my old HJC full face(FG-14 i think). Much development has clearly been made since the older HJC FFs, which suffer extensively from this problem IMO. The helmet itself has a nice aerodynamic shape which is clearly for more than just aesthetics. I would not recommend this helmet for track usage, but it is certainly adequate for road use.

5) The visor is not scratch proof. I have yet to find a visor that is and marks from stones will definitely be seen. This is applicable to even $1000 helmets, so I don't see why it's an issue. When damaged to the point where you feel it's obstructing your vision, change the visor. You certainly save enough from the base price of the helmet.

6) I opted for a matt black rubberised surface to minimise damage to the outer shell. Nevertheless, I have observed several marks on the helmet already. Helmets are not display items, so therefore this is not a problem for me. If you feel the need to preserve the surface of the helmet, may i suggest wrapping it in a layer of gaffer tape.

7) I almost always wear sunglasses during the day. All 7 of the pairs I frequently use fit, from thick frames to thin, plastic frames to metal. I use eyeglasses at night too due to astigmatism. These fit fine.

8) Overall, it is a very good helmet that probably could command a much higher price tag. One of the things I like best about this helmet is the very large vision range, which is comparable to an open face helmet. I am able to see activity on top of overhead bridges as I pass as well as have substantial peripheral vision. This is where it excels as a road helmet above my GP-pro and X11, which are more track-oriented.

The weight is also substantially lighter than my old HJC. I don't know the exact weight but it feels comparable to my other helmets. Good job HJC.

Cushioning is substantial and comfortable. It is definitely better than my friend's AGV stealth, which costs 4 times as much. However, it doesn't match up to either of my other personal helmets in terms of inspiring confidence. Nevermind, it's cheap.

Air flow and ventilation is where this helmet has a problem. It is not as well ventilated as either of my other 2 helmets and is more poorly ventilated that my older HJC. I sweat while using this helmet in the day. But given the barrage of other improvements and the price, I can deal with it.

If you haven't gotten one yet, I strongly recommend you do. Even if it's a spare, you can hardly ask for a better deal.

yup. agreed. jus got it last week. one more th. de cl-st ff helmet have dis visor lock. if ur visor is loose, u can lock ur visor jus by pressing the "catch" when ur visor is fully air tight closed. but eventually, if u wanna open de visor, u have to press the "catch" to unlock again, which maybe kind of troublesome for other. dis is one th tt seem cool to me. :cheeky: but for a short sighted person like me, wearing dis helmet nd longer time cus i have to force my spec in. lolx. :dozed::sian:

btw bro, how u take care of ur matt helmet ah? i oso got de same one as u too. de matt black helmet.

i didn't have any old helmet to trade in, so wad i did was go over to the flea market at sungei rd and bought a used helmet from one of the stall for $5 (can be lower if u wanna bargain w them, but i tot i'll let the old auntie earn a few bucks more) and traded it in at motoworld.

its a win-win situation for everyone. I get a FF helmet for my gf, i let the old auntie earn a few bucks, and keep the (unsafe) knocked up helmet off the streets, in case somebody wanna buy and use it. :p
