after changing my coolant to ICE... wow!!! my engine now more gentle... :D hardly hear my engine roaring on highway

You still don't get my hint..like I said, if Revo was non Vtech, I would have settled for one.

It would not be fair to hahamen lah...this is a non vtech thread...should go to the thread that is "Which S4 is better" in the forum here. I did pose a question to those who favour Vtec..but never got an answer. Looks like its more of popularity choice vote as all newer owners having vtech bikes.....sighhh.

The so called Vtec on S4 are just 8 to 16 valves transition...

Own both....Well the power surge is there when changing to 16V at certain rpm.

First the Vtec doesnt increase bhp..Still the same 53bhp.

And most Vtec owner said that Vtec power....I cannot undersatnd why Vtec is more powerful when both have the same BHP??????

Second the only thing it increases is fuel consumption.

My Ver S clocked 26km/l at best

My Spec 2 clocked 21km/l at best

Unlike car vtec that have a high speed cam that transit higher cam lift at high rpm...increases bhp....

IMO S4 Vtec is BS.....outlook wise..other story...

IMO S4 Vtec is BS.....outlook wise..other story...

 

You can try stepping down to 42 teeth from 44 for your back sporcket. The sacrifice is that pick up is not as torque unless it take gradual fast move off as an advantage and for better fc (hopefully). Somehow, in 8 valves mode, it seem more effiecient that way may be becasue of engine braking and clutch in rolls are smoother.

 

As for non-vtech..if you have your back sporcket up to 44, the pick up is so more Kia_Cee_Nan but engine braking is harsh (got to get use to) and a bit more makang fuel.

 

There is a reason why Vtech comes standard with 44 teeth..it needed it for its non-vtech mode in 8 valves..otherwise...Boe_Lak!

There are ppl who did it and if no..IMHO, anythng oso can just not cheap to customised. End of the day, look chio or what but what for..might as well very_The_Chio_Chio!..add a Suzuki B-King tail end, bend your exhaust feeder from midway to point aggressively higher shooting at sky..money still spend but looks Cee_Peh_Sung! (but still 53 hp lah)..LOL!:angel:

bro out there, can ask u all something??i m really confuse on which bike i should get.

 

comparing ver s n spec 1,2 or 3(with vtec) is there major diff except for e shiokness of vtec??

 

my fren all tell me dun get ver s cos no vtec, but to me ver s more affortable. how man????? any major diff?? thanks

 

shiokness in vtec last only for a few weeks. after that, u dont feel any fun. i ride a vtec now but im missing my version s. shiokness FC is better than shiokness of vtec. i ride from yishun to SP from monday to friday, and sometimes SP to town nack to yishun if im working. pumping petrol every 4 days is sickening on a vtec, even though i cruise max 90km/hr on expressways. the max i got was 21km/litre while i get a usual 24-26km/ltr on my version s. but u get more smiles points if u pump more right? collect alot of point, can buy rice cooker ady. haha!

 

my answer? get a good ol version s. cheap thrills for vtec dont last, but FC for version s does.

 

 

btw, i noticed that my bike has this screetching sound, like rusted metal at the rear. when i take on a hump, when the rear tyre hit the hump, the squeeking sound appear. dont thell me it's the shocks. any help?

I'd rather get a Leo Vince than a Louis Vuitton.

I was wondering why not they abandon the VTEC and give us back the fuel efficient Ver S engine with EFI...

But with the latest outlook.....The refinement between 2 is very good....In fact I would rate S4 top notch for engine refinement...

Vtech supposed to help save fuel thus better FC..running at 8 valves. When you need power and fast getway..then its suppose to ne into Vtec mode after 6.3k rpm. Non Vtec power band is at 7 to 7.5K rpm and our low end operates at 16 valves all the time giving better momentum though fuel seem to makan more..but not necessary. Having to wack thru 6 gearings and staying above 6k rpm to stay in 16 valves to catch a non-vtec is quite a task actually...LOL!..come corner and bend kenna dropped below 16 valves operation again...how to chow like that?...ke!_ke!_ke!

Vtec uses the good low end torque of the 8 valvers....Tipical 16 valver are high rev engine...They develop good grunt only at higher rev...

 

8 valvers develop torque and power at lower end...Vtec just combine this 2...

But it seem fuel consumption suffered as a result...

 

As much as I can feel....Low down grunt of Vtec...Well subjective it maybe...it had just a little bit torque that's about it...

 

Not really worth for higher consumption..As both still develop 53bhp at 11500rpm..

Just the surge of 16 valves transition that makes one believe it had better power at higher rev...

i wonder why a legal rvf yoshi endcan become illegal when fitted on s4?, isn't it the same as the legal s4 yoshi endcan?

 

i think one reason is because the rvf endcan is on the left, and ours is on the right. okay stupid theory of mine. but idk. it seems that way. there's a proper things for proper stuff. u cant put it something at opposite place right?

i heard amk has a good spraypainting specialist. my painjob from VS motorsport is good too. just ask for extra laquer finish. that'll be good.

 

but it's better to get the engine all done up than wasting money on paintwork. no use nice accesories when EO is 6 months old with fork oil leaking right?

Does valve clearance helps in FC ? or jetting do help ? and how much does jetting cost ?

 

My Ver S 260km hit reserve which is very low.

 

Tried Nano balls it doesnt help, tried tuning and changing of carb needles, it doesnt help. tried putting grounding it doesnt help. tried putting power abuser it doesnt help too.

How do you usually ride your bike? There are many factors that affect fc and like what smiley73 said..tire size is just one of them. If your problem still persist and like it solve..have to look at your bike.
