If possible post your bike pic. Maybe we can take a look and try to guess. If i not wrong PB1's tank shape is slightly different...

hi ah pek,

i need some advices from you as well..

 

regarding my FC, my one full tank can only hit about 240km before reserve.

and then it stalled engine,really cannot start at all.

so i turn on reserve, then can start again.

 

i open the tank and shine torchlight in..still have quite some petrol apparently.

really wonder whats is wrong.

 

pls help.thanks

that day i reach reserve, go pump only manage 13liters... so reserve is 5liters so much?

 

anyone has the manual for ver s?

that's quite a bad figure for version S fc siol. version S is suppose to be the most fuel efficient among all the s4.

 

is that your first pump? must take the average readings of the subsequent fc instead of just 1 reading which is pretty much not accurate.

 

for version S, it's 15 litres tank + 3 litres reserve right?

 

any old gurus know how to switch on and off the reserve? its at the left side near the upper block which looks like a screw is it?

Tried and tested, one fine day happen to sui sui bike died on me when about to go pump petrol. Haven't switch to reserve yet. I pumped in 16+ litres. (pumped to the brim). So the 15litre + 3 litre reserve seems pretty accurate. Don't follow the fuel gauge, follow the fuel kok.

 

I'm using BT45. It's a hard compound, touring biased tyre. Pretty durable. I pillion alot on my bike,combined weight of 120kg and the thread is still pretty deep. Also, been to KL 2 times with this set of tyres too. I got it in Dec last year.

THANK YOU SO MUCH BROS!! erm.. actually i haven collected the bike yet, that day just only do booking that's y no pics or log card.. but the plate is "FN" i think. and the model number is: "CB400F2S". so most likely it's a version r rite? erm.. i have another noob question. how often should change the coolant or top it up? and must use coolant together with distilled water is it? cuz i saw in one thread they mention something about distilled water too. so abit confused now. thanks is advance for all u BROS for helping me..!

Hey Brandon...you can come and collect the stuff first and DIY clean and degrease your bike after 6pm today. As for the air filter and other eo changes work..have to post pone to late Sunday afternoon. SMS me when you arrive today.

sure! i'd be there today. issue , this comming thurs , sat , and sund i'd be having RT.

 

remember last sunday i was supposed to go? i called them to make up this comming sat simply cause i can't miss motogp! so this sunday prolly cannot , gotta postpone to next sunday.. feel bad for troubling u but i'd be having this **** RT every thurs sund for at least 8-10 weeks. if possible , sunday early morning , if not then i guess we'd just have to leave it hanging.

All S4 is total 18L for full tank..15L b4 reserve (don't follow the bar or fuel gauge..just a pre-warning that you are running low) and 3L in reserve. Most accurate for non Vtec is to stay at "ON" till your bike jeks..meaning you have to switch over to reserve liao.

 

Those that does the above and found that your pumped up is only 12-13L, your fuel kork is either faulty or the fuel flow tube from inside the tank is clogged with residue and rust sediment at its base.

 

If faulty..to replace, a new fuel kork cost $110 from LAB..otherwise, diassemble it and do a thorough cleansing of the inner tube base(make sure your fuel is close or at reserve to make your job easiler).

JamieJamie, about CF(Carbon Fiber) wrap for you tail, you can get the 3M CF vinyl at the Ubi Ave 3 Blk 3005 #01-50 or Blk 3004 #01-90.

Its in 4ft width (may have problem carrying on bike, too long), so 1ft x 4ft is around $20, not cheap .

I can teach you how to do the wrapping but provided we can find a place that have power pt for the hair dryer.

May not able to apply leave, and they are still planning the traveling schedule(about the range of time gotta take to reach Thai).

I'm unconfortable on them target it at 12hrs and max 15hrs. I think we need to test our newly owned S4 on shorter trips. If there is anything wrong, we are not far from home.

I'm more interested on this trip - SBF Durian Plantation Ride 2009 : 5 Jul 09.
