Feel like changing mine

move off first gear like no power like that

sorry ah pek, i forgot to ask you. how much is your special blended EO? I wanna try and change to your EO and oil filter.

I suggest you redo your grounding unless its done by me from your previous owner, get my eo with x-1R for a start. Always asked ppl doing grounding why it works, how it works and why they connect like this and that. I have corrected one too many wrong doing which actually does more 'harm' that what it should do. But if you are blur urself, what they say you also don't know what's right or wrong.

Eo -$16 per litre. X-1R $38.

refer to post #9924 & #9925.

hi ah pek, thanks for the insight feedback and suggestion.

My riding style is changing gear at 3.5~4k rpm for each gear and normally travelling at 85~100km/h. Im using original DID spocket and chain. The chain seem normal, not that slack nor rusty. I occasionally will spray the chain. Engine oil is using maxima extra. Tyre is BT045 front & rear, alway pump 235 front and 270 rear pressure. However, lately I cant pump my rear tyre to 270. There will be a "hiss" sound and tyre pressure will drop and limit to 250.

Maybe I will ask the ah chong to check on my bike grounding, tyres, gear shift lever and clutch plate. I heard clutch plate will affect the bike FC also. I try not to wash or service my carb as much as possible since it is an old bike. Once opened, problem will surface very soon. Thanks.

"..I heard clutch plate will affect the bike FC also"..who said that and why it does?...not that I know off.

"I try not to wash or service my carb as much as possible since it is an old bike"..if you have too, you need to but do it without dismantling carbs and seperating all the components inside. You want I can do it for you.

As for your back tyre 'problem'...I think your valves is leaking..just change the needle valve pin assembly if its the case. Do check for small nails etc..that may be embedded somehwere.

Yeap!...that's the one. I'm using it myself now as a test bed on two bikes. So far so good as far as rebuilding of compression is concern and smoothness wise can't say much because my engine and gearbox has already been coated with X-1R way back.

It be better someday that user speak for themselves after using it.

I'm not sure if this is the caused of it. I know the slider pin needles cost about $15-$18..give and take over the years..could be around $21-$22. Take any of these figures and x4..+ at least $50-$80 workmanship..you are close to it. Whole carbs got to come off and might as well 'service'..may or nay not require balancing depending on what is done.:sian:

Unless his bike is like my cub-kia in Malaysia, never change engine oil for 10+ years, clutch slip at every now and then, that will surely affect FC, and power too :faint:

Ah Pek, how much does a Original Honda chain & sprocket cost?

I might have to change mine soon.

With due respect to other mtotiam and ppl in buisness here as advertiser and such, I'm in no position to give such comment from their prices to product quality. You can always go with the popularity raesonably good that worth all $s spend within your budget. You can get for $200-$240 Honda original sprocket with X-ring DID or EK chain if you want from Ah Fook. No point saving a few $s running all the way down if there is a mototiam near you and mech know their job, as those few $s you saved goes into travelling. Some ppl buy their own parts doing their own runner's job also waste $s (unless on the way) as cost for workmanship is almost all the same..but not qaulity job and after work service.

Don't buy because it is cheat..if you know a good one and can'tt afford it..wait awhile and save for it for its a one time thing that for a long time you be using it.

ah pek, thanks for helping me out the other time. bike cant start and i could only think of one person to seek advice. haha

Heh LordMmy..I saw this post in my mail box but cannot find it here via the link.."ah pek, after i changed the EO, my FC decreased. Now mileage at 200km and the petrol gauge is left with 2 bars. My riding style has been the same as before. So it's either my FC really gone down or the petrol gauge is faulty. Any of the guys here experienced the same thing?"

Nahh..you are not the first person to have such experience..but rare cases. You may be throttle happy unknowningly..LOL! Anyway.assuming that you had tried your best to be your normal self after the eo changed..the subject on FC matters are very subjective and are inevitably variable all the time.

For example, in your case here, your riding style may be the say but not the ever changing traffics and the number of start/stop light on the same route are the same...the list of other things goes on.

If you really must, monitor again over an average of three full tank. Better still, pump a full tank and ride on highway (like Changi Airport to Jurong - Tuas) on a completely full tank till it reach "real" reserve..I bet you can easily get 22km at least.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.
