Haha I just got mine replaced too.

I see that there is a able tie on the left frame of your bike as well as what looks like a shock damping canister just below your veil tank. Mind if I ask what's what?

thing is oil is not good for the tyre walls. if happen oil were to be there when cornering, u'll just skid man.

so from countless of try and error. read up again n again at the hands on section. i improvise and build a electric chain oiler. i juz switch it on when i want it to oil the chain. the flow of the the oil will be in a pulsation effect. my switch will blink too when its active.

the cable tie on the frame is to hold the oil tube. thats all. i lube the chain via front sporket. so far its been 1 year plus and my chain look great. have not tighten the chain for a while now

Big Kor Kor..... lolz.. u see me high high liao.. Mark kor.im just a rider who love bikes.

I seriously doubt so,unless you are using quick shifter either from power commander or star performance.

Or you rev at high rpms, close throttle quickly and engage gear immediately without clutching in.But TAKE NOTE DO NOT MISS.

You got to bear the full consequences to that though lol

w/o using clutch in up shift is ok.. throttle "blip" is impt. BUT down gear shifting MUST use clutch. :thumb:

Oic! you're a very DIY person.

You know what, I just threw away my scottoiler. It kept on dripping regardless if the engine was switched on / off. Motorworld's mechs tried to help me service & salvage it but to no avail. In the end, I took it out and discarded it.

Good Saturday morning peeps!

To start off the day, I'll like to understand more on the clutch plates & springs upgrades. Wonder if anyone here did the upgrades before?

I was thinking of shipping in some aftermarket clutch plates to replace my existing clutch stock plates. Reason for this is that since I wanna start riding / touring / going for track sessions, it's better to get the plates replaced so that the chances of slippage may be reduced. Furthermore my bike is 6 years old, I would presume that it's also high time that the parts be replaced. So question here is, have anyone tried brands of plates like EBC, Barnett, Track Pac etc? Or rather, what's your view on aftermarket replacement or even, should I even change the plates now (bike mileage 32500km)

Also, since I'm already intending to replace the clutch plates, perhaps I would also change the springs to the aftermarket heavy duty springs. Would like to know other that increased clutch spring pressure when engaging & disengaging the clutch lever, what else should I expect from these heavy duty springs?

Anyone of you here know of or are yourself slipper clutch upgraders on a Gen 1 busa? Understand that it's super costly but a great component to have on a Gen 1 bike (Gen 2 comes with slipper clutch). Anywhere that I can go to see & understand more about slipper clutch?

Hope this does not bore u on a lovely Saturday.

Stock clutch plate and clutch spring is good enough for stock bike or mild tune up bike. If no sign of clutch slip, no need to change. Thought your mileage is quite low, should be fine. Unless you do burnout or wheelie often, it think it should be fine.

As for rear set, just remove the 2 protruting pins below your foot peg first. The go track and see how it goes. If you managed to touch the peg, then change to an aftermarket rearset. I don't think you will also go track often as well. The amount spend on a reputable rearset, can get you a new set of tire. Think it is more pratical.

Yeah, I also hate the usual cut, twist and black tape measure. I will always use those standard connector and use proper crimping tools. Neater as well.

I strongly recommend Michelin Pilot Road series. I am using Road 2 now. After 16k km, the thread still look damn alot. Some riders claimed it can hit more than 20k km. Wet weather wise, I find so so only. But there is no such thing as good grip in wet weather.

Right now, Road 2 has been replaced by Road 3 for improved wet weather grip. You can check it out!

Bro, wouldn't it be very oily elsewhere? Especially the front sprocket area. I used once before and don't like it. Right now, I am a firm believer of manual cleaning using kerosene and lubing using Dupont Teflon lube. Since I clean it often, took me less than 5 mins and last me every 2 full tanks mileage.

46k km and counting. No sign of dead links and haven't tighten chain before (minus those adjustment during tire changing).

it will only be oily at the front sporket housing and if its over lube.

the front sporket housing is a enclosed area. so 2t wont fling everywhere.

but i wont deny u this, manual cleaning like what u did will always be cleaner.

but for a person who bike is also a transport bike. by right every two times petrol top up have to lube the chain. every time it rains have to lube the chain.

singapore weather nowdays like everyday also got rain so everyday have to spend time cleaning, wiping and lubing?

narrrrr not for me. . . . i'm lazy. technologies make us even lazier

I can just imagine how much u enjoy time spent with your bike. I'd love to get my bike re-wired too but don't have a clue how other than black taping it & slotting it into position. :cheeky:
