My gear indicator seems to be going berserk. Can a faulty gear indicator or gear sensor cause the stutter ?

You need to change your Gear Position Sensor.

Hi there, I'm new to this forum and recently bought over my cousins Hayabusa.

First mod I want to do is change pipe. Anyone has any "lobangs" for a reasonable priced pipe? I don't go for performance.

Seems weird. Maybe ride for a few days and monitor.

As what bugsy mentioned, check your wiring and connection. Or you can unplug the GI connector from the GPS and see if it is dirty (if yes, clean with contact cleaner) and reconnect back again.

If GPS fail, it should prompted a FI code, then in turn, it will trigger the fail safe mapping (supposed to be neutral mapping). Your bike will be sluggish. But since yours no FI code, shouldn't be the case.

I can only think of throttle body cleaning and syncro next but might not be neccassary. We may not know if your problem is a combination of multiple problem as well.

Bro, I really feel your fustration.

You need to change your Gear Position Sensor.

I've serviced my gear position sensor and reflash my ECU yesterday. So far bike seems to be running great and smooth. Will continue to monitor for a few days and update again. :)

By the way, what do you mean by brake not effectively? Do you mean when you press the brake lever, it is not smooth, like a bit stuck. Then when you apply more pressure, it suddenly brake alot? If that's the case, then you need to service/repair the brake lever by using the whatever brake kit. Mainly is the O-ring at the brake pump harden, causing stiction during braking.

Yap. Tink it's time to change the pump kit.

Been thinking of changing brake pump too. But which is actually better? Some say 19rcs while some say the 19X20 is better. Some say the 19rcs cannot be serviced. Im more to smooth braking rather than hard braking. More for touring den track.

Where can i get a good caliper service for both.?

Now i need to press the pump more even when its in nom1 on lever. Like nom6 like that. Pad change liaw.

U riding Gen 1 or 2 ? Coz IMHO Gen 1's 6 pot brake caliper like cannot make it on my bike. So i change to a K6 gixxer fork + radial mount calipers and RCS 19 brake pump. Braking power have been amazing.

Actually stock work good enough for your application. Just go and service your brakes if you find it is not effective anymore. Change to steel hose yet? It helps too.

Update guys !

Tried my bike for a few days already. So far still running good. Tink the problem been solve already.

Things i've done:

-Change 4 plug coil

-Change 4 plugs

-Change TPS

-Service fuel pump

-By pass side stand switch

-Service gear sensor

-Reflash ECU

-Sync throttle body (Once remove everything then realise throttle body still in sync. -_-)

But i tink the problem lies wif the gear sensor and ECU.

Thanks to everyone for the input and helping me with the problem ! :thumb:
