you are lucky that you didn't get the twister 250 because this model is discontinued so spare part will be an issue.. also heard from my friends that all the units you buy now are manufactured few years ago so not sure if the bikes will have any problem..

anyway, i think the Tiger's headlamp is okay lah, looks like BMW GS series. Then again anything BMW/European made is style while the similar thing made by Japanese is c---...

to ride is bliss

Hi there. Firstly the Yamaha R15 is a Sports Bike whereas the Tiger is a Street Bike. Both are Class 2B.

Ok, I currently own a Tiger and I can talk about it. Erm, the specs provided by xXxRatedxXx is for the older version of the Tiger. The current new ones available in Singapore are the Tiger Revo (the one i own). The bike is imported from Indonesia, and it is a very popular bike there. The engine cap is 198cc and it is pretty powerful. Pick-up wise is solid, and crusing around at 90-110km/h is very smooth. I think the top speed caps at around 130++ (although I have heard 150km/h is possible on the Tiger, but cant confirm). I have only pushed my bike up to 125km/h and its is smooth at this speed too. The Tiger Revo also has a 6-speed gearbox (instead of the 5 speed on the older version). And yes, the bike sports an asymetric headlights design. Some people think its ugly, but personally I think it is alright and infact somewhat resemble those on the BMW models. The fuel consumption on this bike is excellent too, ~12L gives me about 450km on the roads. I purchased this bike because I was lured by the overall design and because I perfer street bikes over sport bikes, especially the seating posture. Overall I think the Tiger is an excellent 2B bike. Plus it's a Honda, so you can't go wrong with it. :)

I cant say much for the Yamaha R15, although I have test rode a friend's bike. Like I mention before, I dont really fancy the sport bike seating posture. Apart from that, I would say its like any other 2B sport bike, just that it has a newer design.

Do u hve a rear box fix to ur bike? If yes, where did u get it fix, wat brand and whether need to modify bike to fit bracket?? I'm looking at bike as my next ride but need to ensure can hve box first. Tks.

Ya my bike came with rear box. I chose the large 42L one, lol, so that easy to keep raincoat, helmet, street directory, etc. Erm, I think there is a bracket available for Tiger. Mine got brand: K7L4 racing system (or smthing like that.) I dont think need to modify the bracket or your bike to fit this. Hmm, I got mine together when I purchased my bike. You may want to ring up AS Phoon for more details.

Ride Free, Ride Hard, and Ride Safe.

Current ride:Hyundai i30 CW (Sept 2016 - Present)

Yamaha FZ1-S (Aug 2014 - Present)

Previous ride: Honda Tiger 200 (Oct 2009 - Jun 2012)

Suzuki GSR 600 (Jun 2012 - Sept 2013)

Hyundai Matrix (Jun 2013 - Aug 2016)

AS Phoon is just less than 1KM away from my home! Bro PolarisX, since u own the Tiger Revo, how bout the parts availability? Saw an uncle riding the Tiger Revo, asked him how much got it for, he said around 7.3K.

Went down to AS Phoon jus now, think i will nv go back again. was told that Tiger Revo is no longer being shipped in from Indo. The person told me that they no longer in production. And after surveying to trade in my bike in several shops in bukit merah lane, mostly are taking bout 1.5k n above. BUT AS Phoon straight away quoted me below 1K. great.....:dot:

This Honda Tiger has the same engine as Phantom TA200, am I right? In that case, don't have to worry about spares lah. Abundance in amount. If want aftermarket stuff, maybe take a short flight to indonesia and source for them on your own. Quite fun also..

Anyway, I feel that phantom's engine is pretty powerful. Phantom is a very heavy, yet I've seen some going at 120/130kmh and some having good pickup. So this bike being lighter and having the same engine will have even better performance. Definitely a solid commuter bike.

So if want strictly commuting, this bike is the better choice den R15. If want some style, go for R15 instead. For my point of view, I would choose this over R15... fairing bikes are lousy for commuting.. Troublesome to maintain, troublesome to DIY, no storage space, looks ugly with box, bad posture and so on..
